    well i did a reset...

    Hi again,

yes it is I, trouble :-)

I followed instructions, the missing channels are still no where to be seen, they have been found, and not having been lost in the first place kinda makes me sound like a mad rambling, but Im just trying to give as much info as possible, the channels are there, they just pause then come up with ' no signal ' :-(

I downloaded the keymaster 'thingy' (bet ya having a right laugh at this message! ...me too) its the same key I found elsewhere, last updated 12/10/09 ?

Im scratching my head, how do you guys do this? my eyes are square and Im developing a headache ;-)

Thanks for taking the time to help, personally I think I might be fighting a losing battle.

are you using a y shaped splitter as this can give you signal loss, also with all the upgrading going on it may be an outside problem.

no, babe, dont give up. how long have you had this box? was it ok before you posted? as cacti said, it could be a vermin problem! think you said you'd done a rescan, try on a different provider.

          Hey hey :-)

I am not using a v shaped splitter (i dont think ), i shall try another provider and let you know how i get on, and yes it has been working great for over a year, had it in november 08, had some problems which the ex sorted out using a cable and his pc, but they have all gone and am having to do everything manually, not had any issues since december 08, so have done well really, as other locals round here have had to keep inputting new up to date keys, but again these are the x's mates and not mine.

          Thank you both :-)

Tried scanning with different providers to no avail, had 454 programmes before, now only coming up with 433.

Its a pity no ones local, i'd pay good money for this headache to go away! :-D

try another factory reset first, then power off at back for a min
then on auto scan your provider and emu to on.
also make sure coaxial cable is from wall to box,
if it does not fix it as said must be an outside problem.

                hi there

basically starviews and Eurovoxes have these issues of sometimes not being able to find all channels. This is usually down to signal problems or channels being Moved as far as am aware off.

you need to try a few things

                1) Always scan on a direct feed... I.e no splitters.

                2) Try scanning the network around 9 am in the morning as there is less traffic on the network at that time

                3) if all fails then what u need to do is a manual scan on the channels which are missing.. However to do that you need the frequencies... One way to obtain them is if you someone who lives near you then u can get the Freqencies of channels missing.

                4) finally make sure you have an up to date firmware installed.

Freezing on the channels is actually down to signal problems.... I would use another firmware and test it... Otherwise Its time to invest in a Konig Signal booster... AKA yellow brick. seeing as N3 is on its way I doubt you would want to spend 25 quid on a signal booster

if you have the starview thebox Super then flash the box with the 7.09ee if am remember right. ( http://www.digital-kaos.co.uk/forums...7-09-beta-331/)

I would have suggested that you get a CDF file from someone else who owns a Starview and then put that into the box you have but that wont work as I have tried it myself... Works wonders with Eurovox boxes.

If you still hav problems let me know and I will solve it for you but my Going rate is 40 pounds.

would think if its been ok for over 12 months its not firmware problem. think you've got an sv3, so should be 8.02 or 8.04 , either will do. no need to put codes in if one of these is on. check menu, system info for what is on .
you will get variations with different providers, but all al major channels are the same. have you got a genuine box as well?

system info says : THE BOX SUPER, API ver: 8.04e_E, boot ver 8.0, 22 dec. 2008

                          if that helps any?

As far as I know its a genuine box, the ex was buying them, and I don't think for a minute hes daft enough to pay for fakes...dunno though, he dumped me..pmsl!

ok, thats latest f/ware. what i meant by genuine box was have you got a proper vermin box as well as your s/view. i always check that first, to see if its their fault, if you see what i mean.
have you done menu, 1570, emu/keycode on, press default, exit, exit. this normally works for me when channels get scrambled. keep us posted, babe.

                              The Box Super

                              Hi,

I am on Notts/Derby boarder too, and have also lost ITV ect.

The best way is to get the missing channels is press "ok" go to All channels press green and type in the name of the channel you want.

You should end up with a list of about 5 for the same channel, try each until you get a picture!

Unfortunately the box does not store the alternative
