Thanks for the info BlueBox. I had heard about this new software coming in from Virgin but would hope for a few months viewing yet! - perhaps not!!

My location is Great Barr, NW Birmingham if anybody has some acurate info on this security stuff.

      Model of my box is a C531 / S/W Version 2.04.MP / Boot Version - B-21 - not sure if this helps!

Tried code 1570 from the menu but no keycode menu has come up.

Any further help would be much appreciated

I'm in B-ham aswell, firstly although the cards have not been sent out yet they are imminent!! I would say you've probably got approx 4 weeks but don't quote me on this, nobody but vm know for sure. The firmware I am running & according to many on here is the most stable is v2.03. If you d/l this then install onto your sv all should be ok, if not come back & post your problem, someone will be able to help.

Thanks Larryoke - Appreciate the support. Not really good with these tech things so if you assist me with a step by step guide on how i find this firmware to get it on a memory stick and then want i do after that then that would be great.

You don't need to be a "techie" to flash a sv5, if you download this 1st
                      SV5 tut
Have a good read, it is an easy to follow guide, this is the firmware you need
                      TheboxSuperUSB2_v2.03.20090923.BIN
Please remember to power off the sv before inserting/taking out the usb.
the firmware is a bin file just drag & drop onto a formatted usb stick.
None of this work is mine, please say thanks to the authors.

                          Help!!!

Loaded the firmware onto a usb stick and tried on the SV box - (getting the jargon now) switched off box placed usb in, then switched on box - 4 lines come up but then nothing? From the menu i located the USB pressd ok and the bin file come up on the TV screen and asked me to format to which i pressed yes to confirm File disappeared from the screen and usb so i thought uploaded? From the menu screen i pressed 1570 but no secret menu appeared??

Switched off the box and unplugged the usb. Switched on the box and still only channels 1 -5 came up but i did notice that this time 8882 came up on th ebox before it went to BBC1 - does this mean anything.

As always forum people any help would be greatly appreciated. Steve

As DESSERTDOG says, if you read & follow the tut it's easy enough, format the usb then load the bin file onto that, once inserted into sv choose menu >option usb & from there it's simple, language > auto installation (on your provider TW I assume) > once complete press menu 1570 (on remote) turn keycode to on > ok on set default > exit to a $ channel & wait for update > sit back and enjoy free tv for a week or two.
