Starview 6 & 7 UK LAN Latest Firmware

i have a 4gb flash drive, that i used to put carling 1.03 onto my sv7. can i use that again, to download carling 1.04 on to it. tom.

typical of starview to give u only a year i think when my year is up its off to the krypt

Before i put v104 on my sv do i need to rescan etc after i load it or is it just load and all is ok

I know krypt have had some issues to at the moment is hard to tell which box is the best. Its better to go to SAT

factory reset first then flash it ,then you need to rescan on main feed and have lan removed also,its the usual routine to do when upgrading.

cable is easy going the sat route is more expensive and very demanding with some boxes a lot of skills are needed.

Carling 1.04 is latest so is best firmware to use. Usually newer
firmware is released to solve any problems earlier version had
encountered

can any one tell me why the new v1.04 software cannot be used on starview 6 box, it's only the back off the box that is not the same as the 7, told this by wiz when buying a 7 for a mate

Suppose wiz is chap who devised firmware. If coders state 1.04
is not for SV6. You might explain to wiz that LAN on SV6 is
wired into circuit board inside box. AS SV7 has no LAN circuits
inside are different. This is firmware for SV6

Are you having problems with SV6. Most picture freezing is
caused by weak cable signal or server overload. New firmware is
not going to solve those issues
If you want to load 1.04 on SV6 it may brick your box

I presume the Starview 6 is now coming to its end of its 12 mts shelf life, therefore there will be no more firmware made for this box, that is why the new V1.04 has the date on it as to when the end of this box shelf life will be once connected to the net, if you put the new V1.04 on the Sv6 your box may end its 12 mth period quicker then you think.

I have a SV6 that has been blacklisted off the server. It accepts the Carling 1.04 and behaves exactly the same as the SV7, except it just shows :CONNECTING on the status bar.

I am pretty confident that the SV6 will work OK with Carling 1.04, it certainly does not brick the box - but try it at your own risk.

maybe not straight away remember the sv1 and v4.00 for genuine boxes and not for clones then later box says bye bye ,only to find out you had a clone boo hoo.

From what i Know the date shows when the box will not work. When did you buy the box?. They say the starview box works until a year. This is the same for the Starview HD

Yeah you could be right there....my date says 21 Nov 2011....I got the box around the end of november sometime, so this does add up to one year :-(

I heard rumours about the boxes only lasting around a year, but I thought it was more of a case of Starview saying "you'll get a year out of the boxes" not "after one year were gonna cut you off"!!!

Either way, if your using v1.03 or v1.04 you'll still have the 1 year cause i've been on v1.03 for quite a while...may as well upgrade, get the extra bug fixes from v1.04 and also find out your date of death!!

is v104 a ups file

i have the carling 102 ups but my computer wont recognise this type of file, will v104 still leave me with this problem.

or has anyone had this problem and how did they sort it

your pc wont m8 the only program that will is the loader u use to send the box or if its usb loaded u load file to there ,,
