I don't have any problems not drinking but my wife drinks like a fish. She gives up every lent for 40 days and up until this year she has succeeded but 2011 she failed to last the 40 days.

There are different types of drinking.

If you are on about a pint or two then no probs but if he gets bevvied every weekend then she can say something (in my eyes).

I can and have given up drinking partly due to lack of money and partly due to missus getting hairy with me about it. So I gave it up to prove a point...she didn't.

Guess what I am not allowed to bring up in discussion? Sad but true.

I drink now and to whatever level I want despite what she says and slags me for though I never get sh*tfaced.

But the question asked...yes at any time and no reason needed.

          drinking

I've not had a drink after being sober for two years after twenty on the bottle,a seizure i suffered after being hospitalised put me into cardiac arrest. Im 34 now and look forward to the years ahead. If you have a problem seek help. I've been, seen, been and wore the t-shirt and can tell anyone its not a nice way to go,unfortunately i now have cirrhosis of the liver... a small price to pay in a bigger picture

i wasnt just meaning if your other half is pregnant, although a baby is a joint decision and i do feel if she has to give up for 9 months why cant he? whats the big issue?

why do we need alcohol? why do people encourage others to drink and think they are boring farts if they dont? does alcohol give you something your lifes missing? how would you react if someone told you you drink too much - would you go for a liver function test to prove their wrong etc.

just wanted a kinda sensible debate on alcohol thats all.

i did have a few last sat when i was out and got to say it didnt really do anything for me.

I see where your coming from Lainie in your original post although i can't get my head around why you or any woman would think any man should give up drinking because their partner was pregnant and on the wagon

                  The Hillsborough Independent Panel. 12/09/12

Today's report is black and white. The Liverpool fans were not the cause of the disaster.
The panel has quite simply found 'no evidence' in support of allegations of 'exceptional levels of drunkenness, ticketlessness or violence among Liverpool fans' and 'no evidence that fans had conspired to arrive late at the stadium' and 'no evidence that they stole from the dead and dying'.

Why should anyone do what someone else is doing,I know that pregnant women shouldn't drink alcohol, but why should the man do the same? Confused face, ? However I think he should be respectful and not be so obvious.these are the thinks I would appreciate if it was me.in other words if I had to hold a baby all day and couldn't hold a pint whilst doing so, then I and other men would hold the baby and frankly we wouldn't give a toss what you were doing!,it's all about women thinking the man is getting away with it!? come on?

I don't think I would have a problem if alcohol suddenly disappeared. But yes I would have a problem if I went to a bar and everyone was drinking and I could not.
