    price of fish and chips

do you like your fish and chips? well the cost is going to rise well abouve 5pounds. why you may ask, well over fishing isnt the only answer its only part of it.consecutive governments have failed to act on dwindling fish stocks for over 25 years.they can arguue about quotas ,restrictions, size limits all they want .it wont change anything.we should pull out of the eu fisheries treaty its the only way to protect stocks and lower the price of fish.

We are a little bit parochial as to what type of fish we have in our suppers. Maybe it is time to change that until the other fish stocks catch up again.

you can get trout instead, just catch your own, up here its ?15 for 3 trout at the local fisherie.

If we all ate trout for a year instead of cod, it will give the stocks a bit time to grow.

Farm feed pellet brown or rainbow trout will taste as bad as farm feed pellet Salmon.

A natural brown trout caught and cooked fresh is delicious.

I'd rather have Alaskan Pollock than cod , it's firmer and has more flavour .
My favourite is coley or mackerel , chips + peas , super tasty fish and 1/3 of the price of cod .
                    Got a fish supper last week , 3 fish , 2 bags of chips , curry + peas , ?13.75 (cod ?3.25 each) , not a cheap meal anymore !

When we went to Whitby a few weeks ago My missus refused to get fish n chips from the Magpie Cafe because they were so expensive. We got some from another for ?17, thats for 4 .

Now when she goes to doncaster fish market she always get Vietnamese River Cobbler, which i think is better than Cod and its less than half the price.
I refuse to answer that question on the grounds that I do not know the answer.

In Scotland you dont need a licence/permit., But in the UK you can buy a years licence ( cant remember the price , but i think its under ?30 ) or you can buy a day permit, witch used to cost about ?3
