Got mine done 8 years ago and it was a nightmare from start to finish but you know what I would still do it again just for the peace of mind m8.

We origionally had the opposite problem as my wife had womans problems and we couldn't conceive naturally, so she endured 2 years of IVF so we could start a family, it was a long rough road and we had a lot of disapointment along the way including an etopic pregnancy that nearly burst and could have been fatal but thank God it wasn't.

To cut a long story shorter, it eventually worked and we had a healthy boy, after a complicated birth.

We assumed that due to all the problems we had there would be no chance of us having any more so didn't bother with contraception

2 years later she started feelling like shit, being sick etc.

yep she was pregnant naturally, it turned out it is really common for this to happen as all the womans organs move to the side as the baby grows inside them and her twisted tubes had straightened themself out so after the birth of my son all our previous problems had sorted themself out .

This is when we decided the snip was the best option for us and I can assure you m8 I was shitting myself.

Went for the op and it was a bit of a bombscare as the cowboy I got must have been on piece work .

Wheeled through with the gown with hole in the front, the surgeon injected one side, a bit painful but not as bad as expected, goes round the other side, injected that one 2, thought to myself it would be like dentist where he would make small talk for a few minutes till the anisthetic kicked in.

Did he ~~~~, he went straight back to the first side and started cutting. The pain was unbealievable, I had tears in my eyes . He said if I wanted he would just do the one and I could come back later and get the other 1 done, I told him to ~~~~ off and do them both as there was no way I was coming back.

He went round the other side and I was prepared for the pain but I felt nothing but a bit of poking and proding as he worked, turned out the sadist hadn't given it enough time to work.

At that time I wished I had bottled it but a couple of days later when my gonads had went back to normal I knew I had done the right thing m8 as we did not want any more kids and other forms of contraception were not an option.

As 4 your sex life it won't affect it 1 bit m8 as you still get the same feelling and sensation as b4 the only difference I noticed was you make less mess as you only fire seminal fluid without the swimmers and if anything your sex life will improve because neither of you will be worrying about unwanted pregnancy.

I know mine sounds a bit of a horror story but it was the exception and not the rule, it turned out this particular surgeon had a bit of a bad name and hopefully was struck off years ago

isnt it amazing how many of you think it is OUR job to sort the contraception out. anything permanent by a female involves a general anasthetic which carries huge risks esp if you are older (which im presuming most of the women would be after having the kids they want) surely you wouldnt want to put your loved one through all this for a couple of days miscomfort for yourselves? you selfish lot.

ive taken all the contraception control since i was 18 so its his turn (although it is a diff his if you know what i mean)

coil is due for renewal in feb and i dont want another at the age of nearly 45 as i dont want any more hormones in my system. i wouldnt consider a hystericalrectomy as id need hrt and there is no way in hells earth im taking that. i will do my utmost to cope with it when it happens.
