    Fuel Prices...what can anybody do?

    University fees rise and students are marching and some smashing up the place.

    In france they want to raise the retirement age and they all strike and march.

    They slowly creep up the price of fuel which in turn pushes up the price of everything else and what does everyone do???

    My poor car is so thirsty?

    Personally, think that everybody that is an 'active' driver should be limited to say
    10,000 miles per year, so for the first 10,000 miles fuel is say 60p per litre, anybody
    who goes over that limit, is then charged $1 (got no pound sign on this pc) per litre
    Payment can only be made by debitcard.

    This then causes problems with thick taxi drivers, thick lorry drvers and people doing gardning etc etc.

    How does tough grab ya, do you have the overheads of people with fixed permisis
    gas, electric, phone, internet, water, bussiness rates etc etc etc.

    Meat.

            On the continent, they get 99 ron fuel, for less than we pay for 95 ron fuel. And it has gone up more, so what a rip off. The people blockaded the refineries long before the price reached this price, where are they now? The stiff upper lip? Done a deal? All hell should be kicking off. I'd have expected civil war far belong now. But everyone say, Oh but I am so British, I must conform.

              ~~~~ you im alright attitude,thats the problem in this country
              once it went over ?1 then nobody gave a ~~~~
              it was like the ?1 mark was never going to happen,at 85p there were blockades,a few more days and the country would of been at a standstill then they would of looked up and listened
              if everybody stopped using a certain oil company for fuel they would soon drop the price,then there would be a price war,same as the supermarkets although they do it to try and ~~~~ each other up,with fuel its different,you stop when you need it not at a certain station,,boycott would still work though
                The Uk charge these prices for the simple reason we will pay - we have to. Our lifestyles are such that we rely so much on cars and transport. Unless people change the way they live, how we travel, or the need to travel or find alternatives. I have not bought fuel from a garage for over 2 years. I run my old vectra on anything i can find to stick in it (within reason). It only takes enough people to make these changes to make a difference.
                      seriously tho, look at the price of some bottled waters, compare that with the amount of work needed to get the oil from the ground and into your car, and you'll find petrols quite cheap
                        As much as I agree with the sentiment, the rich would then be allowed ro drive any where at anytime - because they could afford to. Why not just stick a limit on it full stop.?
                            I dont use the red stuff, thats asking for trouble - but pretty much anything else. Older diesel engines are far more tolerant to alternative fuels, newer engines wont run on it. But i have used mixtures including veg oil, waste veg oil, heating oil, hydraulic oil, rape seed oil, paraffin - anything i can get hold of cheap.
