    Car Insurance RIP-OFF

Are you getting screwed by your car insurance company?

We just got our renewal through on the family car and they are asking for ?435.00 MORE that last year, even tho we have'nt made a claim.

Last year we paid ?420 with 12 years NCB,(70% max. discount) this year they are asking ?855!

Just spoke to them and their excuse " VAT & premiums have gone up." (NOT BY ?435 FFS)

So my reward for not having an accident and not making a claim is a rise of ?435 in my premium!

THANK YOU, YOU RIP OFF BAST*RDS.
SLOWLY, OUR FREEDOM IS BEING ERASED.
SOON, WE WILL JUST BE A NUMBER.
IF WE DON'T FOLLOW, WE WILL BE ERASED.

i just had the same experience, and when i further questioned them as to why its ?400 dearer they then came up with the excuse that many customers from my area had made claims,i told them my missus just got hers for ?20 cheaper than the previous year, they replied that there cant be a lot of people insured with that compny in my area ! you couldnt make it up,,the next one i called told me that all insurance companys have raised there premiums due to fraudulent claims rocketing in the last year, thats a plausible excuse,,i phoned 4 companies from the comparison site and all had a different excuse,so in my view there talking out there arse
in the end i went 3rd party f+t and cancelled all the little extras that i would normally have,,i just hope i have an accident free year

I think this is the same with insurance companies across the board, I'm in the same boat having no claims for 8 years but still a rise of nearly ?300!

got the daughters car insured in the misses name and her as a named driver, only past her test last year,,cheapest we could find was nearly ?1200,fair enough as shes only passed and that quote was with go compare policy was with quinn,,renewal came through before crimbo offering it for ?650,i thought if there offering it for ?650 then if do the comparison site again then i might get it slightly cheaper
went on go compare last night and the cheapest was ?1150 !
the difference is nearly the same amount again,,i cant get my head round it

They all seem to offer the best deals to new customers whilst ripping off the old customers. I now move my insurance every year, and like cgscott says Go Compare was the best for me.
I got a clio sport and was with Privelege insurance from new and it cost me less than ?400 a year for the first 2 years, entering into its 3rd year this went up to ?850.... where is the logic?

try its4women.co.uk downside is it4women but if you have a wife get you as named driver. This company is northern ireland based but in the past i have found that even though they are not in same country as you there is no prob. Especially if you do not plan to have any accidents and only need the paperwork to show the fuzz if stopped.

My missus is paying ?230 more than last year, it's preimums and vat, According to them and also the claimed crime has gone up in the area of london where i stay. What a load of bollox. At least from march all uninsured cars will get scrapped whether its sitting on your driveway or not.

I'd like some confirmation on that scrapping all non insured cars.
You can drive anything you want while on private property, insured or not, no seatbelt, using a mobile while smashed out of your head.... as long as you're not putting other people at risk.

Getting back to the insurance rip-off. Just checked mine, up ?120 or there abouts to ?520. Currently with hastings essentials who were pretty good over the past 2 years. I'll be giving them a grilling in July when it's due.

BBC News - Keeping an uninsured car soon to be illegal in Britain

Insisting its only non SORN cars....wonder how many they get wrong before the law is repealed
