When did you take out the policy? If it's within 2 weeks you will be able to cancel without a problem... Cool off period for all new contracts.
You will end up paying for the days of insurance you have had with them, but there should be no cancellation fee.

Pass+ is a scam. Enter details into a price comparison site stating that you have zero NCD, then try it with 1 year, then 2 years NCD.
The last time I tried this year one was about ?800, year two around ?1100 & year three back to around ?850... and that's without Pass+

        about pass pluss

i am the 20 year old in the corsa remember, who is paying ?850 this year. Well i can tell you that pass pluss isnt a scam or "useless" because if i wouldnt have done it i would have had to pay ?3200 in the first year of driving but instead got it for ?2500, all because i did pass pluss.Which COST ?100 (jan 2008)
doesnt take a maths genius to do this,

        Saving = ?3200 - ?2500 = ?700

        ?700 - ?100 (pass pluss cost)

        TOTAL SAVING ?600

This shows pass pluss, (for me at the time) was indeed however very usefull !

Did you search for a price before taking the pass+ or after?

If my maths is right you got a 22% discount for taking the pass+. Then with each extra year it's around 27% discount for each claim free year.

My actual insurance went from ?800 down to ?400 from year 1 to year 2, a 50% drop. I don't list anyone on my insurance as a named driver as it only lowered my premium by ?7.

I would like to know how yours keeps dropping when premiums are going up due to bad winters & dodgy claims. Mine has stayed at ?400 since, & doesn't seem to be changing for the better, despite not claiming....~~~~ers.

yes, i got a price quote before then told them i got pass pluss. Its easy to get cheaper car insurance, u just have to look for it, some people think the first 1 they see on a comparison website is the cheapest, but its not always the case. once u have it, ring them up and negotiate. I have the gift of negotiating, and in response of how come my premium keeps going down, i dont know how old u r but i'm 20 and have 3 years no claims, and i'm not driving a 1.2 around and paying over a grand. the car is worth not much more. ask me if u want some tips.

              insurance premiums

New customers always get the best deal.
My insurance policy doesn't stay with an insurer longer than a year, my renewal has always been uncompetitive and when i shop around i always get a better deal than my renewal quote!

I suppose there's a risk factor that the insurance software calculates for every quote and it is hard to understand how it works.

                I`ve been shafted

Can anyone explain to me why after 27 claim free years of driving has my policy just gone up nearly ?210 because somebody over 2 years ago reversed into my parked car. I didn`t claim on my insurance, his insurance paid for repairs. It didn`t go up last year although my policy was renewed 4 months after he hit me. I was told yesterday that because his insurance had to pay for the damage to my car, i am having to pay for it too.

Can anybody tell me if this is actually legal. As the insurance company cannot/will not give me a reason for this. I even had protected no claims at the time.

Another thing...Yesterday i was was on the phone to the insurance guys and they informed me that i had opted out of an OPTIONAL LEGAL COVER. Imagine my suprise when they informed me that they wouldn`t cover me unless i took out the cover.

I mean...what the hell does OPTIONAL mean??????

I`ve looked at it in the dictionary andf the thesaurus and absoloutely cannot find anywhere, in any language where OPTIONAL actually means NECESSARY.

I feel its about time the people of britain stood up and told the insurance companies to either sort themselves out, or 100% of drivers refuse to take out insurance.

Maybe lie detectors should be used for anybody making what looks like a dodgy claim...

I was paying ?310 fully comp on a ford mondeo 2.0lwith swiftcover, I then half way through policy changed my car to a 2.5l cougar, went to my insurance companys web site to change policy over and they wanted another ?570 so policy would be ?880 full comp.
As that seemed to expensive went on the meerkat site and they came back with ?320 fully comp with swiftcover????
So phoned swiftcover and their excuse was the quote was based on when I took my policy out and wouldnt offer me the lower price, so ended up cancelling policy and taking out the policy via comparethemarket with swiftcover for the lower price.

To top it off they wanted proof of my No claims, so yes, you guessed it swiftcover had to send me proof of no claims so I could send it back to them as proof

Terrible customer service but they are the cheapest for me, and I dont fancy paying more for customer service as from past experience all insurance companys are the same, once they have your money they dont want to know.

Got me interested - although my insurance isnt due till October I updated quotes via the comparison sites and found that although no accidents or claims, and another year NCD it has gone up by a staggering ?170 from ?380 to ?550.

I will wait to see what my insurance send through the post.

Have the comparison sites made it easier for insurance firms to price fix it against us??

i also tried the comparison sites and they was all about ?200 higher than my renewal quote from swinton so i got one quote from the post office and went back to swinton with it and said match that ~~~~er which they did, so in the end got the insurance for the same as the year before, no discount for another years no claims tho when you argue all the coonts say is insurance as gone up a lot this year, yeh ok

Am not looking forward to renewal date this year, both cars with same company and renew on same date.

Both cars group 17 insurance [old category 17/20)

                                ?320 + ?360 last year, I'm thinking ?500+ for each in October.
