    SFA AND SFL NEWS THREAD

i hope this thread is only used for news of what is going on in sfl.and not for having a go.thanks.

Dundee have been invited to replace Rangers in the Scottish Premier League.
The decision was taken at the SPL's annual meeting, which means Dunfermline Athletic's hopes of a reprieve from relegation have been dashed.
SPL clubs also agreed that it would "work with the Scottish FA, SFL and Rangers to facilitate Rangers FC taking their place in SFL Division Three".
The SPL fixtures had left space for a "Club 12" after the old Rangers headed for liquidation.

Dundee, who were runners-up in Division One and finished 24 points behind champions Ross County, will accept the invitation to play in the SPL.
Dens Park chief executive Scot Gardiner said: "We were always confident that, on sporting merit, it would be us, but we have been in limbo for a few weeks and, only now, can we start to plan properly for the SPL.
"We have a very good squad of players and can now add to that squad."
But Dunfermline chairman John Yorkston will be seeking legal advice after his club, who finished bottom of the SPL, were not be chosen as Club 12.
Barring any challenge, Dundee, who were themselves in administration two years ago, will now start the SPL season away to Kilmarnock on 4 August.
The new Rangers are expected to start their new life by taking the Dens Park side's place in the first round of the Ramsdens' Cup.

meeting to be held today......Rangers braced for SFA transfer embargo talks

The new Rangers' admission to the Third Division could be in doubt over the Scottish Football Association's demand that it accepts a transfer embargo imposed on the old company.
Ibrox chief executive Charles Green will meet the SFA on Tuesday in an attempt to resolve the issue.
"Without SFA membership, we can't play in the Third Division," said Green.
"They want to put some transfer embargo on us, but we can't have that as we don't have any players."
Carlos Bocanegra, Maurice Edu and Dorin Goian are poised to leave Rangers with the blessing of Green, following the exits of several other first team players who refused to transfer their contracts to his company.

Rangers' opening match of the 2012-13 season, the Ramsdens Cup first round tie away to Brechin, will take place at Glebe Park.
There had been speculation that the tie would be moved to Dundee due to the amount of travelling Rangers fans expected to attend.
However, the Scottish Football League and Tayside Police have confirmed the match will go ahead in the Angus town.
The match will kick off at 1500 BST on Saturday 28 July.
Glebe Park has a capacity of 3,960 with 1,519 seats in two stands

Rangers' league place at risk as Scottish FA insist signing ban must stand.

Rangers' prospects of playing in Scottish football this season remain uncertain because of a stand-off between the Scottish FA and the club's owners.
STV understands Sevco Scotland, led by Charles Green, is currently unwilling to accept the re-imposition of a 12-month signing embargo, originally placed upon the club by the governing body on May 11.
The Scottish FA has made clear it will only transfer Rangers' membership to the new company if it either agrees to the imposition of the registration ban or elects to again go before the governing body's appellate tribunal

The two parties must reach an agreement before Rangers' season starts in 12 days time. Ally McCoist's side are due to play a Ramsdens Cup tie away to Brechin City on July 28.

SFA confirms the power to transfer punishments
The Scottish FA has confirmed it has the power to transfer existing punishments to 'newco' Rangers.

The statement issued by the SFA on Tuesday quotes 14.1 from its Articles of Association.
It read: "Transfer of membership will be reviewed by the board, which will have the complete discretion to reject or to grant such application on such terms and conditions as the board may think fit.

"Now that the club's status has been confirmed by the SPL and SFL, we will consider the award of transfer once Rangers FC satisfy the necessary criteria."
The SFA suggested it is seeking further clarification from Charles Green's Sevco company before granting a licence to Rangers to compete in the coming season.

The statement also stated that Rangers manager Ally McCoist will face disciplinary proceedings over his call to publicly name members of the Judicial Panel who imposed the initial transfer embargo on the club.

The Scottish Football League has approached broadcasters with a package to show up to 25 live Rangers matches in Division Three next season.
However, any deal cannot be finalised until the Scottish FA grants membership to the new club.
The SFL's media representative IMG, is inviting bids from interested parties, with a closing date of Monday.
The proposed deal includes the opportunity to broadcast all 18 of Rangers' away league matches.
Members of the Rangers board held talks with the SFA on Tuesday, but there is debate over what punishments they will accept in return for membership.
It is understood the SFA wants the newco club to accept the 12-month transfer embargo handed out to the old company for bringing the game into disrepute.
The governing body also wants guarantees from Charles Green's consortium that all football debts will be cleared.
The SFL TV deal on offer is subject to certain criteria, including fixture clashes, scheduling clashes and policing but with the start of the new season less than three weeks away, they want all parties to move quickly.
And BBC Scotland has learned that several parties have already declared an interest.
As the SFL looks for a broadcast partner, its counterpart at the Scottish Premier League continues negotiations over its own television and radio deals.
SPL chief executive Neil Doncaster has spent the last 48 hours in talks with Sky and ESPN discussing what they are willing to pay for a top league without Rangers.

So with this statement how can anybody state that the newco cannot have any history ?
If the newco is to play under Rangers' membership then the newco are Rangers and all of their history remains !!!!

                      BREAKING NEWS:

                      Sevco will accept transfer embargo
The new Rangers appear likely to be granted membership of the Scottish Football Association after accepting a 12-month transfer embargo.
Sevco Scotland, which now owns Rangers' assets after the old club headed for liquidation, needs the membership to play in Division Three this season.
The embargo would begin on 1 September and end on 31 August next year.
That would mean Rangers could sign players in the current transfer window but not in January or next summer.
                      More to follow...
"Sevco Scotland Ltd have also undertaken to accept all other outstanding conditions relating to oldco's charges of bringing the game into disrepute.
"The conditional offer of transfer will now be submitted to the appellate tribunal for its consideration.
"This will form part of the approval process for the transfer of membership which, once approved, will enable Rangers FC to take a considerable step towards participating in Irn Bru Division Three.
"In addition to the above, the Scottish FA has also received the necessary financial information requested and this is being considered as part of the application process.
"Subject to the completion of all legal documentation, we anticipate transfer of membership next week.

Former Rangers players' transfers cleared by Fifa

Fifa has given temporary clearance for a quartet of former Rangers players to join new clubs.
Newco Rangers chief executive Charles Green had attempted to block moves for Steven Naismith, Kyle Lafferty, Steven Whittaker and Jamie Ness to Everton, Sion, Norwich and Stoke respectively. But Fifa has granted temporary dispensation for the moves until full international clearance is given.
Steven Davis's switch to Southampton has yet to be ratified.
But Professional Footballers' Association Scotland solicitor Margaret Gribbon, of Bridge Litigation, had said she was confident all the moves will be cleared by Fifa.
Northern Ireland striker Lafferty has already had to sit out the start of Sion's domestic season in Switzerland because the Scottish FA denied the ex-Rangers players international clearance because of Rangers' objection.
The players had refused to transfer their contracts to newco Rangers on the advice of the PFA Scotland.
Green insists that the players have breached their contracts and that Rangers are due compensation from any club signing the players

Rangers: Signing ban not enough for SPL to approve newco

The new Rangers' participation in Scottish football next season is not certain despite accepting a 12-month transfer ban from the Scottish FA.
Sevco Scotland, which now owns Rangers' assets after the old club headed for liquidation, needs SFA membership.

The SPL, which rejected the new club's application to stay in the top flight, wants further sanctions and a share of Rangers' Division Three media rights.

Administrator Duff and Phelps, which still controls the oldco Rangers, Sevco, the Scottish Football League, the SPL and SFA must all agree the package to allow the new Rangers to play in the coming season, starting on 28 July in the Ramsdens Cup away to Brechin City.
Sevco chief executive Charles Green had argued that a transfer ban would prevent the club competing as manager Ally McCoist has lost many of his players.

Southampton agree fee with Rangers for Steven Davis

Southampton and Rangers have agreed a fee for the transfer of midfielder Steven Davis to the club promoted to the top flight in England.
The Northern Ireland international had agreed to join Saints earlier this month after rejecting a move to the new Rangers created by Sevco Scotland.
Rangers blocked the player's international clearance.
But the the two clubs have announced that they have agreed an undisclosed fee for 27-year-old's transfer.

Another absolutely astonoshing set of events regarding the totally inept and humungously greedy SPL, this just goes to prove this is absolutely nothing to do with sporting integrity but trying to fleece money out of Rangers even tho they pumped them out the SPL.

How can these muppets be allowed to run Scottish football they couldn't run a bath.

Totally rotten to the core and are now just going all out to destroy rather than punish and tbh this is the last straw for me for scottish football and it's so called sporting integrity i just hope it all goes horribly wrong for the SPL/SFA in the coming years.
