I can only say at that.

For every pound spent on the National Lottery, it is split in the following:
    50p ***8594; Prize Fund
    28p ***8594; Good Causes
    12p ***8594; Government
    5p ***8594; Retailers as Commission
    5p ***8594; Camelot
4.5p ***8594; Camelot for Operating Costs
    0.5p ***8594; Camelot for Profit

Seems the government take 12%, wonder which expenses that goes towards. 10% to Camelot. So the question has to be what do the government do with it?, and I can't find the answer to that right now.

    In 2010

Camelot 2010 Annual report - 3. Operating Profit

Operating Profit ?44.9m in 2010, though that is obviously after all 'other' expenses are paid.

Yes, you're right. I already amended it once to 5% and then for some reason changed my mind to 10%, back to 5%, then 10% for some reason. However I do think that has changed since it was written they've got their website up so retailers will not get the same cut as more people start using the online system. I've used it now for about a year and half.
