Allow Sky let them enjoy it while it lasts until the Arabs and whoever else come along with vast amounts of cash and take it to the nxt level.

This is whats about to happen in France the Qatari Royal's who own PSG n Aljazeera are set to launch new channels in Europe on the level of Sky maybe bigger and aim to be the best at everything they do, they have ambitions to air in the UK aswell.

who said any thing about camera technology

i also never said only sky can revolutionize sport

but how many countries around the would have a dedicated f1 channel or have done in the past

the bottom line weather you like it or not is sky will inject 5x more money into to f1 than bbc have the past 3 years

there will be more interviews more track side coverage

and heck as you have mentioned it i will be looking forward to the camera technology and maybe watching my 1st GP Live in 3d

which is something the bbc could never provide the beeb couldnt afford to keep the sport let alone invest into it

it the best thing to ever happen to f1 weather you like it or not.

SKy have had F1 before which they shared with ITV but then they ditched it for A1 which never happend for them. I agree Sky will pump vasts amount of money in to the Sport and there will be more coverage, but will it benefit the fans?

          Camera technology?

I was led to believe all the actual race filming was done by F1 and just fed to broadcasters, if so then sky will make no difference to actual race footage.

EDIT: After a quick google, it appears FOM supply the broadcasters and 2011 was the first year they provided HD!

Anyway, I am personally angry at this deal, BBC should have stuck to it as they have been fantastic with F1 (they should drop the Olympics).

Bernie will out-price F1 with his greed.

I'll just swing my dish to 19'e and watch for free like Germans do on RTL next season and either use 5 Live for audio or another audio net feed.

Not mad, just don't think the general public are that bothered about Olympics.

F1 is every year and I feel F1 on the BBC has suffered in the UK with the UK hosting the Olympics in a year when there is global money problems, probably the wrong time to host it.

F1 is very British, most constructors are based here, it is just about the only sport the british are any good at.

But I think Sky will mess that up, just like over paid footballers who deliver excactly what to UK?

Maybe where u live they may not but everywhere else people cnt wait for the Olympics being held here. Nothing big like that's bn held here since Euro 96 but even that doesn't compare with the Olympics. All that money coming in will be good for the Economy the whole worlds eyes on London showcasing all these events and athletes nothing comes bigger then it.

i am actually, i have Hockey, and Wrestling tickets Kurt Angles competing again at the Olympics.

What does F1 bring to the community? most of the drivers are from well off familys especially the brits, the tickets are expensive, and soon like Bernie said Europe will hardly have any races left maybe 3-4

F1 brings a lot to industry, a lot of F1 development is engineered into most modern cars these days, developed from British constructors.

Brits rule F1 (don't just think of drivers and race hosting). I am more of a constructors fan.

Will Kurt be arriving in a milk float and everyone chanting "You Suck"

                        What?

                        What?

Are you serious about this comment?

sky own the channels they can have 100 "dedicated" channels to F1 if they want...

the fact that dave, channel 5 and ukliving all have +1 channels on sky should tell you all you need to know about owning a tv channel these days.

but thanks for the post anyway rupert murdoch.

the rest is laughable, why do the bbc or sky need to inject money into a multi billion dollar sport anyway? did you want the bbc to pay for its own team?

bbc had the man who runs F1 on the commentary team and he has access to all the people and areas in f1. they had access to all drives/teams and all celebrities on the grid.........what are sky going to do.....show the drivers in the toilet pre race?

im not sure about more trackside coverage as, the grid opens at the sametime for everyone for the race. and qualifying is split into 3 sections and is basically and hour.

the bbc started their coverage over an hour before qualifying and the race.....thats bloody loads of talking, analysis and interviews trackside. why do you need or want anymore than that.

also to add that georgie thompson is the new sky face for f1.......wtf does she know about the sport?!

so you want to watch a race in 3D? i think most of us realise this gimmick technology has not worked and most people really dont care about it......so your very much in the minority there.

"it the best thing to ever happen to f1 weather you like it or not"

                            fcuk me......ok rupert calm down

this sport doesnt need to be taken further, its been covered really well by the bbc, in fact its information overaload at times. sky will just **** it up and glamourise it, make it into 3d, put some fit women in a plastic studio with plasma screens and people like hottdubber will cream themselves and think its the best thing ever......

fcuk sky....this is one sport that doesnt need them.

im sure almost 70% of F1 teams are based in the UK, thus creating jobs here.

the olympics will bomb, it will be a huge cost to the tax payer and you wont see a penny in return.....

laughable that you think its good for the economy, its a event that lasts weeks and thats it, done forever....or do you think people will still be buying london 2012 memorabilia in 2020?

i give up with the stupidity of the common british man....i really do.

propaganda leads these people into the darkest alleys in society.

It brings people from around the world to this country spending money, better then the ones who come from around the world seeking asylum and leaching.

All this work gone on to build the stadiums, re-furbish other arenas etc gave people jobs. At the end of the day we will see the benefits of the games when quite alot of the money pours straight back in to the poverish communities that need it. F1 teams may be based in the UK but what have they done for our communities. They just make the rich richer, a donation every now n then doesn't cut the mustard.
