Mascherano was at fault yes, however there is no way we'd have won by sitting back for 80 minutes..
Gerrard should have stayed in the changies.. Torres scored a good header but ballooned two sitters.. Aquilani offered nothing when he came on nor did Babel or Benny..
The tactics of sitting back at OT never work.. Obviously Benitez knows better, he didn't learn anything from last season did heComment

Considering our recent form besides the Lille and Pompey wins I think we were ok, 1st half anyway, 2nd half we began to fade to nothing at all, Barely had posession except 1 or 2 chances in injury time. Didnt see much of Rooney though... How often can you say that?

Why didn't Babel, Yossi or Aqualani star ? You have to play your best attacking team and once again Benitez didn't. No great surprise there though. Same old same old. We will be lucky to finish above Everton in 7th place this season.
