I though Carrol bought a lot today and was unfortunate not to score. Spearing was not in the box when fouled but come on Liverpool deserves some lucky breaks too. You just don't win on talent alone in this game. About calling the Europa league the "Loser Cup" cause it is. Ask the players and they will say they don't look foward to playing in it. I don't want Liverpool playing in it cause next year they can't afford playing the extra games it's strains the fitness level of the players. I want Liverpool to win the title and if that means not playing in the Europa league it's fine by me.

so if we finish 4th,which is still mathematically possible, you would not want us to compete in the c/league then??? re the losers cup, the c/league should be renamed the champions and runners up league then!

I became Liverpool's fan (if it could be said) after Final won against AC Milan, - I hate Italian stile, no fantasy no force just defense.

If you mean that the name "Champions" is a joke then you are probably right..as is calling the 3rd tier of the English football league the 1st division.. etc.
But the actual format seems to be fine.
Sport is awash with names inherited from days gone by
The 1000 and 2000 guineas in horse racing spring to mind.

The Champions league and the league title is all that matters in football today for the big clubs in Europe. No big team wants to play in the Europa league. No world class footballer want's to play in it either.

i think what he means is that you can finish 4th and then be european champions.
if you finish 3rd in the group stages, you go into the europa league.
i would prefer the old way, a proper knock out cup for champions. the uefa cup was equivilent to the c/l , the 2nd and 3rd placed teams entered, plus the league cup winners. i'm all for a european league competition but surely the modern set up downgrades being "champions" of your country.
