I suppose it could mirror the old 'football only began when the premiership started', which is an allegation thrown about regular toward Utd fans.
1958 was a fine yet sad year for English football and 1968 encapsulated all the old fighting spirit required and established the first English club in history to win over Europe, thus writing itself into the history books never to be undone. Lets not talk history as who knows how many European triumphs English clubs missed out on due to Liverpools "European history"
