I wouldn't blame Kuyt for Liverpool being a mid table team. Liverpool became a mid table team because they never replaced players like Alonso Masharono and Hyypia and added players like Adam Henderson and Downing. All i know is neither one of the three turkey's could be his replacement.

change the record, we became a mid table team long before them 3 joined the club. Look to the future, if Lucas Leiva can be turned around so can them 3.

The Reds' new boss is well aware of Dalglish's standing among Liverpool supporters, but has enough belief in his own ability to remain undaunted at the thought of succeeding the King of Anfield.

"I have the ultimate respect for Kenny Dalglish," Rodgers said.

"My door is always open for Kenny Dalglish. This is his home. As chairman Tom Werner said, he is the heart and soul of this club.

"His love for this club is unrivalled. He is the best player in the history of this club. I am not here to win any race or competition. This guy is a legend in the game and here at Liverpool Football Club.

"But what I know is history judges you as a manager and hopefully in time people will look back at what I have achieved here and I can walk beside these people.

"But there is no way I can try and overtake someone like Kenny Dalglish. All I can do is be myself.

"That is all I've ever tried to be - to be a student of the game and be the very best I could. That has helped me make a meteoric rise as because of my work I've been able to get the opportunities."

Rodgers' rise to the Anfield hot-seat has come on the back of an impressive spell in charge at Swansea City, with whom he enjoyed promotion to the top flight and then a magnificent first season in the Premier League.

He is now determined to enjoy more success at Anfield.

"This is a prestigious club and Kenny is a guy who has a wonderful history here and will continue to have a great future in terms of Liverpool. I can't worry about that," he added.

"The only way you can overcome that is by winning. On a lesser scale, when I went in to Swansea there was a similar thing. The chairman put me in and I was in to the challenge of making the club better.

"It will be the same thing here. I respect every manager and player who has played at the club but now it's a new cycle and I enter into that with great motivation, aware of the risk, aware of the challenges but excited about everything.

"I'm excited about everything about this city. It's a city of folklore and football and I am proud to be a part of it."

Rodgers also insisted he has no concerns about trying to win over those outside the club who have questioned his appointment.

"I know there are three types of supporters at every club," he added.

"Number one is those who, no matter who the manager is, they love their club and they will love their manager whoever it is because Liverpool is their life and their passion and they love their club.

"The second group is supporters who will accept you but to earn their real respect you will have to be successful. That's fine.

"The third group are the critics and you never change them ever. If you win four nil it should have been five. If you win the league it should have been three.

"I will never worry about that group because you can never affect them. If you do a good job you are proving them wrong but they can't be proved wrong so they will kill you even more.

"I only want to work with the people who love the club. I have always had good relations with the media and with the supporters.

"I'm open and honest. I understand that not everybody will want me here but that's part of the dance."

        THE TRUTH
        The Hillsborough Independent Panel. 12/09/12

Today's report is black and white. The Liverpool fans were not the cause of the disaster.
The panel has quite simply found 'no evidence' in support of allegations of 'exceptional levels of drunkenness, ticketlessness or violence among Liverpool fans' and 'no evidence that fans had conspired to arrive late at the stadium' and 'no evidence that they stole from the dead and dying'.

Gylfi Sigurdsson does not see himself signing a permanent deal at Swansea and he would be interested in joining Liverpool but he has not yet spoken to Brendan Rodgers regarding a possible move to Anfield.

After arriving in January, the attack-minded Iceland midfielder took the Premier League by storm while on loan at Swansea from Hoffenheim and he seemed set to agree a long-term contract at the Liberty Stadium.

Swansea have agreed a fee with Hoffenheim but Rodgers, who was the manager to bring Sigurdsson to England while in charge at Swansea, has since moved to Liverpool and is ready to hijack any deal.

Sigurdsson, 22, has not put pen to paper on a contract amid the uncertainty in Wales following the departure of Rodgers at the beginning of June and the player is thinking about Liverpool.

"It's just unclear at this moment where I will play," he told Icelandic newspaper Morgunblaoio. "I'd like to play on with Swansea since I was really happy there.

"But after Brendan Rodgers left the club for Liverpool, it changed the situation."

          Glorious history

Sigurdsson, who scored seven goals in 18 Premier League appearances, added: "I have said that my desire is to continue playing in the Premier League and Liverpool is completely considered.

"Liverpool is a big club that has a glorious history. The English Premier League is the platform that I want to be on and hopefully I continue to play in that division.
"I expect not to stay at Swansea as the uncertainty going on there and it is not clear who is the boss."

Liverpool transfer talks have yet to take place between Sigurdsson and Rodgers but the former has wished his ex-Swansea boss good luck at Anfield.
Asked if there had been contact, Sigurdsson said: "No. But I got in touch with him when he was appointed Liverpool manager.

"I wished him congratulations and thanked him for a great time at Swansea."

                    Sir Alex Ferguson in 1988

"This isn't just a job to me." "It's a mission. I am deadly serious about it. Some people would reckon too serious. We will get there, believe me. And when it happens, life will change for Liverpool and everyone else - dramatically."

Sky Sports understands Liverpool's move for free agent midfielder Mohamed Diame is back on.
                        Mohamed Diame: Free agent

Diame, who played at Wigan in the 2011/12 season, is one of the top Bosmans around this summer and a host of clubs are after the Senegal international.

The move appeared to have collapsed following the sacking of former Liverpool boss Kenny Dalglish.

However, new manager Brendan Rodgers has given the green light for the deal, as he is a big fan of the midfielder.

Liverpool could face competition from Aston Villa for Diame, with Paul Lambert keen to sign him after taking over at Villa Park.

so Moyes is fav for the Spurs job, i can't see him turning it down if it is offered to him and if he goes then we should have go at signing Baines.

Jelavich, Cahill, Fellaini will all want to leave if Moyes does go.
