got to totally agree with you,how the ~~~~ has richards not been picked from the start for me gave 100% and more everytime he appeared for city.as a team england performances are well below the level of top four in prem.i suspect there is a great deal of politics involved in the picking of this squad,will be a surprise to me if they progress from their group.

He got overlooked actually by Woy and placed on the standby list, but all the other players who didn't get a call up, got a call by the gaffer on why they've been overlooked, he didn't that was the reason he opted out of being on the standby list.

Im a big fan of Kelly's but was suprised at him being selected ahead of some mentioned, he has a bright future tho that's for sure.

and the reason Kelly was picked for the Norway game, was Richards was on holiday and was told he probably wouldn't get a game so finish his holiday.
but it doesn't explain Kelly's call up now ahead of Richards, because it can't be for footballing reason
there's 1 year age gap, Richards is more experienced, and a better player.

England will be lucky to get out of the group. How could Downing be on this team with the year he had? Henderson too! Would of rather seen Beckham and he just too old. As a Fan of Liverpool and the EPL i would love to see England do well but reality sets in and the squad will need alot of luck. Hate to say but Germany and Spain could put their "B" teams out their and win this tournament. They by far out class most teams. By the way the Dutch don't have a "B" team. The Final Germany vs Netherlands. Germany wins. Third place match France vs Spain. Spain wins.

kelly is NOT the replacement for Cahill, phil jones is.. as is phil jones the reserve right back. hes the utility defender/midfielder. hes also 5th in line for cb spot.
Kelly is going because he is young, and your very own king kenny has said he has the ability to compete on the world stage. He also apparently can play at cb..
He,wont even get a game unless Glenn Johnson, Terry and Lescott are injured at the same time. Roy knows what he's doing, despite what Liverpool fans say..
And here's something for you liverpool fans to chew on;
Brian Clough "failed" at Leeds, the same as roy 'failed' at Liverpool.. the same clough who is often touted as the best manager england never had.
The fact that Roy elevated switzerland into third place in the world rankings and got Fulham to a european final seems to have escaped the majority of folks, who base their opinion of him on a stint with liverpool, or because its fashionable to dislike him.
Another thing to think about, theres a reason why he works in football and we dont.. because he knows more about football than we do.
