That said there are plenty of players out there that just play for the money.

Loyalty is a two way street. If you grow up wanting to play for a team and reach that goal, stick it out until you're past it and move on. Don't jump ship for a bigger cheque book and expect to get respect. What would happen if every time a better team came along the fans started supporting them ?

Being a fan is different from being a player.

Put it this way, say you work for Amstrad for 40k a year, then Microsoft offers you 70k a year.

    Whats your decision ?

I am a Liverpool fan first and that will never change i ve been to 2 European cup finals and they were fantastic. But i do have a passion about England but only ever been to one England game England v Scotland 1977 aged 9.That was an experience i will never forget got the trian down to london and half the tartan army was on the trian this bloke kept giving me swigs of Mcewans and lent me his air horn.Got to Trafalgar square with my dad the place was insane. Some one spotted my England shirt picked me up put me on his shoulders and started singing spot the loony to which half of Trafalgar square joined in my dad must have been shitting bricks .Then off to wembley and we lost but what a day.The following xmas i asked my dad for a Liverpool shirt with Dalglish on it being a everton fan he bought me a Scotland shirt with Dalglish on it .

Aye, very good McCarthy. I know you love nationalism, as it allows you to exist without forming an opinion on of your own!

Saw Mitt Romney on the TV the other night, I bet you like him

Club side but the idea of celebrating across the entire country also appeals.

Hard one but ultimately I would treasure any Rangers triumph over a Scotland one.

                Club Football everytime

Deffo Club football - it's crazy to have the break so early in season - most people would love England to win the WC but not much chance really.....

As an Ireland fan I've enjoyed many great times but they are totally eclipsed by the times I have had as a Celtic supporter, so it's club football from me.

I've got no real interest in international games, I just want to watch my team play and do well.
After that, my family gets my time. Nationalistic pride doesn't come into it for me.
