Weve had a fantastic pre-season from our youngsters, Cleverly in particular and i have to say if he does not make it then i will show my arse on Warwick road. Wellbeck's also been in good touch and it was great to see Pogba gertting in a few crunching tackles against the Kings men.
Despite these young lads looking like the best crop to come out of OT since the golden generation of Becks,Nev's etc I still think we need a World class signing to bolster our midfield. With Fletcher and Anderson's suspect fitness problems then we could likely struggle to maintain consistency. I hope the transfer of Sneijder does go through and I think a lot of fans will breath more easily if it does. We are light in midfield and I think our amazing defense and attacking options papered over that to some degree last season. This season we are weaker still with the loss of Scholes and although I still believe our current midfield has enough to claim the league title we will still be losing ground on the likes of Barca who have already improved on an excellent squad.

Fergie Fergie sign him up and give us all something to dance about

Good win today for man utd, I was glad to see man city get beaten as it shows money cant buy everything, including team spirit. 2-0 down at half time even though they had dominated for 35 mins but they refused to be beaten. Cleverly looked impressive and could step up to the plate if he gets enough game time. It looks like smalling is fergies new o'shea (utility player) he will be playing right back, centre back and anywhere else fergie needs him. Fergie looks like he has settled on vidic, ferdinand, jones and evans for his 4 centre backs so i think smalling better get used to playing at right back or he will struggle to get games. All round a good performance and man utds 2nd goal was absolute class such good passing and movement. I didnt like mancinis tactics or substitutions after going from 2-0 to 2-2 he takes off a forward for a defensive midfielder and a left back for a left back which seems to show a lack of determination to WIN the game, he would have been happy with 2-2....god i hate italian managers !

Cheers m8... good to see some rival fans on here talking sense .. without having to listen to that bile by the you-know-who's

Great comeback... again, by Utd, thought we were unlucky to go 2 down before halftime, with the possession we had.
I wont dwell on Citys 2nd goal but i thought de Gea should have done better!! But it did looked like his was caught a little off balance,
however anyone that watched la liga last season, and his performances pre season will know he's a top keeper.

Young, Smalling, and Cleverly impressed again, as they did preseason.

Utd's 2nd goal was a thing of sheer beauty, and it has to be said, against a supposedly strong defence!!

All in all.. a great win..and a good game, mistakes were made on both sides...but it's only community shield, and we wont get carried away..

very nice game - I would say (Man stile) as usual "fight until the end".

great win for the reds. I felt the game changed for the champions when
                carrick was replaced by cleverley.

Really liked what I seen off him yesterday, creative confidence and always looking forward, would like to see him play a whole lot more at UTD, probably be used as a sub though, hope he and UTD can build from their.

yes he did ok the lad was bright snappy and got in their faces wellbeck made some good running also

the team yesterday young included seem to all have a bit of pace and bite to there game hernandez will add even more smalling looked ok at right back too which someone posted earlier will be a good boost to the squad and probably why he let oshea go

the future is looking ok but i feel we just need a creative spark in the middle to make us more complete cleverly looked bright and buzzy but will that be enough?

he will need more than that to be a regular but i suppose you need plenty of game time to improve but he certainly has done his chances no harm

btw 2 excellent finishes from nani yesterday he is the one player at the club i would put money on in those situations he is so comfortable on the ball

Not keen on us are they

Must say it's great having them around though it just makes taking the piss that much easier. Who else could we come up with gems like this about ?

Their not the first club to do this to UTD, don't even think its the clubs that make these rules, local council probably.
