Official - England World Cup Thread

Well guys I'm over in the States, they are celebrating like mad over here as a 1-1 draw to them is a good result, as for me I'm a bit dissapointed in my teams performance, but I suppose its better than loosing, typical England first round perfomance. Lets just hope that England and the USA go through to qualify...chuck

disappointing, though we didnt play awfully. They should treat it like a win, a great result for them.

i think that david james should be starting in goal from now on hes more experienced than the rest even though hes got an injury. anyway the 2 team getting through the group is us and the usa should be an intresting tounament

If Heskey had put it anywhere else than down Howards throat it would have been an OK result.. Where was Rooney..?? Missed a few chances to take the game but on another day they would have gone in.. Just watched the 1st half of the Slovenia Algeria game.. dreadful.. no worries i think there

If only John Terry had shagged Rob Green's missus

dunno why he wasnt first choice anyway i think he is easily englands best keeper

i thought we were second best team yesterday especially first half i thought they bossed the game after gerrards goal second half was an improvement but aside from a little spell around 70 minutes we were second rate against a team who would rather play rounders than "soccer" and have hull citys deadly altidore up front

big players didnt perform and were barely noticeable never noticed rooney was playing till late on dramatic improvement is needed or it will be home in the second round for us

we look far from world cup winners IMO

i think James is carrying a slight injury..?? I'm pretty sure he'll start the next game, or else why give him the No1 as his squad number..?

not an english bashing post but i thought they were very poor last night. usa or england could have had a second. and rooney?? barely got a mention.
                        Pity green was so poor.
Howard played a good game in my opinion !

if david james is the best we've got, we have got no chance...
should have played hart.... not world class but did great at b/ham last season...

don't know about that bud.. James is a good keeper.. Hart is a rookie.. End of the day me and you would have stopped that shot so Green has no excuse

well i was listening to talk sport last night and noel gallagher ex oasis frontman said something which made a lot of sense.
england are in 8th place in the fifa rankings so that means 7 teams who are in south africa are rated better than them. that gives england no automatic right to believe they can win the world cup. the way the media go on about them you would think england were nubmer one ranked.

personally i think they will get through the group stage but get knocked out in the first knockout round.
