not the best game, but 7 of the usa team played in premier league. if england finish 2nd in the group we'll most likely get germany in next round

why is it we are concerned by meeting germany ? we have too bet the better team to progress But saying that cappello picking ledley king baffles me with his injury problems!

i wouldn't have played king or green. i think england need to adopt a fast counter attacking mentality rather than play the ball back giving the opposition time to get every player back & having to try & play through them. we seem to play at a canter for alot of the game

i agree its ok playing at somewhere like birmingham look at ben foster he was first class on loan for watford but couldnt cut it at united he seemed overawed in a united jersey and never looked comfortable

im not saying hart will be the same but i wouldnt be prepared to take the risk in the world cup finals and i believe james is the best keeper we have anyway by some way too even though in most of his career he was known as calamity james everyone seems more at ease and composed when he does play

In all honesty we all want to see england bang the goals in. but under capello we WONT see this happen And james and joe cole should start the next goal imo

i agree, james is our best keeper at the moment, the defence seem comfortable with him playing in goal. no one ever really came through to replace david seaman though

true m8, i can't argue with that. i still think we need to adopt a fast counter attacking mentality though. the best form of defence is attack

Under Flavio Capello England have not faced any top competition & had one of the easiest quallifing groups in Europe along with the Netherlands, while other European countrys like Ireland faced Italy in there group, Germany had Russia, Portugal had Sweden & Denmark etc.

Englands recent Frendly matche results also cast doubt on how good they actually are ! losing to Brazil only by one goal last november been there best result followed by beating Egypt 3-1, Mexico 3-1 & Japan 2-1 none of these are world class teams other than Brazil who fielded a week enough team against England.

England should beat Algeria by 2 or 3 goals after watching them play Slovinia which was a pretty poor match by all accounts, but then again England played rings around Australia and still struggled to score.

How big a factor is it when you cant hear your home support in the stands ? because its been deafened out by those stupid Africian plastic trumpets, Maybe there missing the Twelfth Man and what should feel like a home match feels more like an away fixture.....

can you remember any other serious mistakes by seaman...??? dont think so. same for all world class goalies, they ALL make the odd mistake, but with james, it has been regular for years... as i said,if he is our best, what chance have we got???

How many chances do strikers miss in a game,Heskey could have won it but didnt dont see the newspapers highlighting that.First game but the frontmen need to do better for England to progress.
