Also have ipad2 on 5.0.1 do i just run it through redsnow.

For your phone just update to 5.0.1 then jb with redsnow or greenpois0n .......

for your iPad I don't think it will jb the iPad 2 atm.... could be wrong but sure I read the 4s and iPad 2 are being worked on (A5 ) devices?

FYI I jail broke my 3gs on 5.0.1 new bottrom, I had to go through it twice as the 1st time cydia wouldn't work.

Got the files on my pc for mac and windows if I can add them to the downloads section?

not an expert but I think it may upgrade your baseband... removing your carrier unlock, I think you can upgrade it with a custom ipsw. Personally I would do a bit of reading before updating. There will be loads of people in your position so I would expect lots of traffic on the subject, also save your shsh blobs so you can restore back to your old firmware if you require. I used ifaith and had no probs

it has been updated the unlock Unlock iOS 5.0 with Ultrasnow 1.2.4 on iPhone 4 / 3GS

Jailbreak only works on A4 devices....No iPhone4s No iPad2...
A lot of Cydia apps/tweaks not configured/updated to work on ios5....and when you do get something that works and installs ok , you find another app/tweak may conflict...

Just a note for those who used Corona 5.0.1 Untethered in Cydia....
Basically a lot of Cydia apps were "broken".....all fixed now

Friends, I have a 3GS ver. 4.1 (8B117) model MC136LL Ser# XX022XX... (week 22 2010) Jailbroken, Carrier 8.0 (free), Baseband 06.15.00 and Untethered. Working really good. Its O.K to upgrade to Ios 5, and apply redsnow? Can I get an Ios 5 untethered and free 3GS? Thanks in advance!

No it doesn't kill your unlock bud, one of mine was locked to o2, and I had it unlocked by o2 and its still unlocked now after the jailbreak

Slow down with the advice....if you are "Factory Unlocked" by service provider your safe to upgrade....if you rely on a software unlock you have to take steps to protect your baseband or unlocking will become impossible...
