Untethered 5.0.1 jailbreak here

I have jailbroken my iphone 4 with this new jailbreak using redsnow which went ok as with previous jailbreak, but Cydia is failing to install any of my downloads ie:- installous, sb settings, weather elements etc, and i had to try 3 x times to load hackulo into cydia.....

Will i need to jailbreak again or is there something i am missing......

i just ran my iphone through redsnow and it said exploit failed when at this screen

edit just tried it again and it worked

try again or sounds like u will have to restore in itunes and try again m8 ? u r using the new redsnow

Friends, I have a 3GS ver. 4.1 (8B117) model MC136LL Ser# XX022XX... (week 22 2010) Jailbroken, Carrier 8.0 (free), Baseband 06.15.00 and Untethered. Working really good. Its O.K to upgrade to Ios 5, and apply redsnow? Can I get an Ios 5 untethered and free 3GS? Thanks in advance!

Guys use your head....Apps/Tweaks that work on 4.x.x may not work on 5.0.1...

Untethered jailbreak is here...now will come a crap load of people whining about this or that app not working since updating....be careful installing without reading the description can cause issues, Apple loops,full restores ....

thanks for the advice all. i was on an unlockable baseband which was why i had to get the gevey sim. not sure wether to do it or not now? are there any real benefits to the 5.0.1 update?

i would wait until all the teething issues are sorted,unless you like messing around with the phone etc etc
if you want a simple upgrade to ios5 and jailbreak without any issues with apps and tweaks not running correctly then wait a while,if you know what youre doing and have done youre homework go for it

completely agree
would save a lot of double posting etc if people done there homework first
i suppose peeps are lucky that DK has a lot of understanding members

not entirely true mate, apple will stop sigining 5.0.1 in the not to distant future and people will be forced to update to 5.1, where the exploit used in 5.0.1 could be closed. personally i would just upgrade to 5.0.1 whilst still possible to do so there have been beta releases of latest redsn0w that already fix certain bugs in the untethered 5.0.1 jb.
