Thats probably because 249 and 250 are the main IOS's used in USB Loaders. Thats an old Complete Softmod Guide its been out 18 months.

What make and model is your USB drive? As I said some drives take a while to spin up, I sometimes see the 19 second countdown but it always finds it after 4-5 seconds. I just plug them in and startup so I don't wait for the drive to spin up.

So actually it shouldn't be neccesary to Modmii etc.?

I'm just affraid to break something, by overwriting some essential files or similar. If the Modmii conflicts with the manual method I did - followed all the old Complete Softmod Guide.

the drive is an quite old 2,5' 40Gb Hitachi Travelstar HTS424040M9AT00 laptop-disk put in a chassis.

ModMii won't conflict as it just adds and newer updated wads as it examines the sysCheck.csv file.

You don't really need to use ModMii as you have IOS236 installed. If you want to remove the other IOS11, IOS20, IOS30, IOS40, IOS50, IOS52, IOS60, IOS70, IOS80 stubbed IOS's I've uploaded those from ModMii. Digital Kaos - Downloads - IOS11_IOS20_IOS30_IOS40_IOS50_IOS52_IOS60_IOS70_IO

You can remove IOS16 if you download my cIOS16-v257.zip and add it to the wad folder on the SD card then install with MMM. http://www.digital-kaos.co.uk/forums...9/#post1807800

ModMii does add IOS62-64-v6430.wad but that isn't a stub it just makes it No Patches which you have already.

How is the drive formatted FAT32, NTFS or WBFS?

But why bother to remove the stubbed ISO's? As far as I know, they aren't doing anything.

          Isn't it only cosmetic?

As my Wii seems modded ok (correct me if I'm wrong - but I can use HomeBree and GX), I cannot see, how this can help me solve the USB-drive problem?

Sorry for my english - it's not native :-)
          Sorry for my un-knowledge - I'm a mod-newbie :-)

You can do what the hell you want, I'm just trying to help users out with there problems. Why your drive isn't recongnised unless you disconnect and reconnect to me still says the drive isn't compatible or its how you've added the games to the drive.

Yes - I know - and I appreciate you help.

But I just want to know what and why I should do things, and want it to make sense. And the stub-removal doesn't make that much sense to me - especially no related to the usb-problem.

I'll go find another drive and see if it changes things.

                        Welcome to DK.

Well you need to install a few more wads.

The easiest thing to do now you have the sysCheck.csv file on the root of the SD card from the sysCheck is download ModMii6. 2.4 and run it from Windows. On the main menu type in SU and type in the location of the sysCheck.csv.

That will download all wads and apps that are missing into a COPY_TO_SD sub folder. Add all files and folders to your SD card and run Homebrew with the SD card inserted.

Now ModMii only installs 2 d2x v8.0 wads and add those 7 wads to the wad folder on the SD card, so you may as well install all the others. d2x v8.0 final pack

First of run IOS236 Installer from Homebrew and install IOS36 as IOS236, you must do this before you install the other wads. Come back out and run Multi-Mod-Manager and select WAD Manager this will default to the wad folder install all wads in there. Watch for the Installed OK message after each one. If any don't install just try them again.

Oh after you've installed all those wads download PriiLoader 0.7 add that to the SD card and run it from HBC to block online and disc updates.

                        Then post a new sysCheck.

That new sysCheck looks ok apart from you not following my intructions as you've installed the d2x v7.0 wads.

If you want to remove IOS16 stub it not that important download my cIOS16-v257.zip add it in the wad folder and install it with MMM.

A USB hard drive should work providing you find a compatible drive and you add the games on it correctly.
