    4.2 softmod

    Hiya dell m8
Tried that, no luck, tried uninstall stub3 by dogeggs and usbLoader starts but gives error - custom IOS could not be loaded
ret =-4100. When I load cios15 it will still not load & IOS249 is no longer an option. Then I Reversed Stub3 and reloaded IOS249 and tried cIOS38Rev14, & then CIOS38Rev15. Still no joy!
The problem seems to be related to IOS249 ?
I am browsing the Wiihack forum for a few tips and will report any success. Thanks for your help so far !

      4.2 softmod

      Hiya dell m8
Some success at last. I ran the uninstall stub3 by dogeggs & uninstalled IOS249. Then I reinstalled IOS249 using cios249_ios36_inc from Wiihacks. I then ran CIOS38 rev 15 and it loaded first time by clicking on IOS249 then network.
Then I loaded the USB loader 1.1 and it went OK but with a USB error. A big leap forward. I will sort the USB error out tomorrow And so to bed & watch the Snooker! Thanks again - regards hypersonic

Bingo! success at last. I have backed up and played my first game. Many thanks to dell_xps and all others who contributed.
The evil stub3 was the problem as it stops you loading cIOS to IOS249 and this stops the loader from running.

                      newbie

                      Hi Gcscott!
soory for the stupid question but does this replaces all the several steps of the tutorial at http://www.digital-kaos.co.uk/forums...w-guide-67927/
meaning I just install the batch file to the SD card, put it in the WII follow the instructions and will be able to play backups and all the usb stuff with no need to do all the step by step procedures?

                      Thanks a lot m8!

This does it all for you, Click the install batch file and type the location of your sd card on the pc and this will set the card up ready to go.

                        Same Problem

I'm trying 4.2U. Everytime I download data to SD card, nothing shows up on the Wii.

Hi am going to try the softmod today but only have a 512mb card. Will this be big enough for the job or could I use a 2GB micro SD in an SD adapter as used on the DS Lite etc

                              4.2e Softmod

                              Hi Wii willy
512 mb SD may be a bit small for all the software - I am using a 2 Gb micro SD card in an SD card adaptor in my Wii so it should be OK - I would load the software on to it using the Micro SD USB adaptor if your SD card reader is USB1.
                              Best of luck
