If the firmware is 4.2E for sure, then go for it.
Make doubley sure it sais 4.2E in the settings b4 starting though as I wouldnt like you to brick your Wii.

i think it might be 4.2E, however if its not, is it possible to just do a system update to 4.2E via wifi?

      is the latest firmware 4.2E?

I'm pretty sure you will have to flash it with Jap firmware as it's a Jap Wii, flashing with PAL or NTSC firmware will brick it.
I'm not 100% sure, best to google it m8, but I'd avoid do anything untill your 200% sure it's ok to flash it with PAL firmware.

Guys please be aware my methods for doing 4.2 systems has changed again using a new app called multi mod manager, this one app now does the whole job for you, apart from a few button presses the whole thing is pretty much automated. It's now more difficult to get it wrong than it is to get it right!!

I've also included cios249 version 19 into my download packs now, and can't remember if i announced on here about cios222 version 5, and the latest version of uloader supporting wiiware and virtual console games as well.

Anyway, as usual all my packs for installing HBC or using custom IOS files etc can all be found via the homepage @ Ade's Softmodding Wii blog

Again thanks for all the support that comes from digital kaos.

just viewed the 1st post that says
"Copy everything to memory card, click on MMM, and that's you"
i would just like to check thats this is what i really want as
i have been googling wii softmodding most of this afternoon
and this just looks too easy..
i have had a wii i got off ebay that was "chipped"
and i have access to newsgroups so i just downloaded the ISO images and burned to dvd-r and played them but last week it packed up just dont power on smells of burning.. so i have purchased a wii-fit pack from argos today but cant
play my games, i have been told by friend that it needs softmodding and the new wii dont pay dvd-r discs and that i have to use my usb drive ? sorry for the long post but can anybody please confirm that this is the correct software and that my 100+ dvd-r discs are now no good .. thanks

Absolute tosh m8, your DVDR discs are fine to use if it isnt a new black Wii.
You can play everything from a hard drive once you have softmodded your Wii, so you don't need to use your DVDR's Is probably what yer m8 meant.
What chip do you have a there may be an update for it, still wont let you play games from a hard drive, only softmodding allows this.
Finally yes copy the files to the memory stick and run MMM, it is as easy as that.
                        Hope that helps m8.
