I have a wii that has 4.1e firmware with no hbc or softmod. I was about to connect it to the net so it would automatically update it to 4.2e so I could softmod it after, but I have just read on another thread that someones wii wants to update to 4.3e. Would it be better if I softmodded it at 4.1e and then update it using the safe 4.2e softmod update?

I've updated my wii now and followed the steps and everything went great. Backups load perfectly but my original new super mario bros says it needs to be updated again. When I installed the hbc it asked if I wanted to install dvdx and bootmii (which I didn't do) as I was unsure if I was supposed to. Was I supposed to? What should I do to get new super mario bros working again?Comment

Update Wii firmware from 4.1E to 4.2E
Hi All. I'm a new member, so please be gentle...I have a Wii with 4.1E firmware and wanted to update the softmod on it, as it is giving problems. Is it best to update firmware to 4.2E first as the softmod for 4.2E is easier? Any thoughts? Many thanks.Comment
