Softmodding A Black Wii

hi short. ive got the complete 4.2zip files unrarred, but as you say i need the .elf file for HB. i dont or cant find the files for HB and bootmii.

thanks guys, most of it done now apart from the point where I try to format the USB external HD drive to WFBS and it freezes. Also I need to update the homebrew channel to 4.2, as its 4.1 and when I enter an original disc such as wii sports resort it says that I need to update it,

there is no need to update the homebrew channel mate. also u can disable all disk updates in priloader when u install it if u havn't already. once istalled press power button then hold in the reset buttton till the priloader menu comes up then go to system hacks and disable disk updates

have u got the correct drive selected in WBFS mate if u have try another usb port

no worries, thanks. Ive found an update anyway for HB, which is great. Seems to be working.
I wasnt able to download preloader, will try once this is done.

hi short, selected the right one, but still took ages. Not sure if its a problem with the HD, maybe not compatible or something else.

it should be compatible try and leave it formattting over night but ive never reallly known it taking very long. if cant find priloader pm me again with ur email and i'll send u it

hi short. I ran the 4.2 firware update, but there is a slight problem. I ran the firmware updater, and it encountered an error when running the wii shop update.
What do you suggest now, as when I insert an original disc, like wii sports it says that it needs a Wii system update on the home screen where the disc blcok is?

use this first http://www.digital-kaos.co.uk/forums...ler-rar-87643/ then use Digital Kaos - Downloads - v4.2 safe firmware updater then install Digital Kaos - Downloads - preloader-v02-rev32 and use the preloader update option to get up to date

Hi ck. Thanks for that. I reinstalled the firmware updater and it worked fine.
The main issue at the moment is that I can't seem to install the priiloader version you sent me.
For some reason, copied all files to sd card, run HB and it doesn't show the option of installing it.
I followed ades tut, where it says add ios70 wad file, I try to do that via the mmm app, but it says there is an error with the wad file.
I need to get the priiloader on there to a) save copy of wii b) be able to modify settings as it currently keeps
Showing in the top left hand channel, when entering wii sports resort game that a wii system updtae is required.
Any ideas on how to overcome these issues and install priiloader?
