dvd drive version wont play backups

tried to install bootmii but it said there is already a copy which is preventing me from installing as boot2. went to bootmii in hbc and my box froze, just got a black screen and my drive light flashes.. any ideas?

when you say you cant install as boot2 have you tried to install it as a iso?
