I managed to repair as launch model 60gb PS3 using this tutorial last night.

It's fairly straight forward, just take your time.

Solid green light

just like to say hello to everyone, this is my first time on the forum.
recently my ps3 had the ylod which i fixed using no clean flux and heatgun method, ( well i dont get the yellow, red flashing light anymore ). when i switch the console on now i get a solid green light and nothing else. no vid, no audio and have to use the switch at the back to turn the console off. does anyone have any ideas what this means ie bad RSX contacts, psu problem etc. thanks

This is thr RSX chip not soldered properly. I'm trying different methods on my PS3 to get it back.
Copper plate No Go.
Trying to reheat with flux and holding chips down afterwards whilst still hot to give good joints.

I have repair an YLOAD , all fine with a heatgun, but nos i have 3 bips when i shut down the PS3, and i think the fan does'nt works do you know this problem ?

just got hit with the RLOD......

and so close to the release of the PS4 too

i got the same problem
was able to get it repaired only for it to break down again
luckily it was under warranty so its been repaired again
seems like its a temporary solution to get by until the ps4
