Red Ring of Death Repair

I had a RROD on my console, was trying 2 repair it by myself by had no success. I found out that it can not be cured by oven or heat gun.
The only way to repair the Ring of death is to re flow the disconnected solder joints using an Infrared BGA rework station.
Heating with an Oven can briefly reconnect the electronic connections but without a full re flow, the problem will reoccur.
I found the repair centre where you can fix your console for ?40 & they use Infra Red tech. They deal with all consoles, click the link below it's very helpful.

Yes, probably there are lots of repair centres who can do it much cheaper but they don't use latest equipment such as Infra Red BGA soldering station & the fault re occurs very soon.

i had rrod on my 360 brought a repair kit from flee bay 4 ?3 and used a hairdryer, worked a treat straight away, but i will say the fan is louder but machine works 100%

You can get a heat gun on ebay for ?10.

Do the reflow yourself. No problem.

and tbh andy i would like to see the repairs with that infa red station m8 cos the video only shows u heating the chips up by waving the wand about

i too do reflows at ?40 but with a proper reflow station (air) and preheater (i see no preheater in your video which is a bad way of doing reflows m8).
also another fault with your site .... u are stating u are flashing xbox drives with iextreme 1.61 when its not around for all drives especially the hitachi drives and lite-ons

I am not going to give a step by step instruction on the video. Air stations are no good for BGA re flow, there is no way you can safely reach the re flow temperature for Lead Free solder.
You are just doing an old fashion botch job.

Ixtreme 1.61 is the latest firmware available, so if someone wants that installing on any console, it is viable. You can flash with old firmwares if that's what you want to do.

What is your site? I will go through it and point out all the niggly details I don't like!

I usually go between 130-160c underneath.

Depending on the board the chip itself i will raise it to 200-230c.

1 i never said i had a site
2 im a qualified electronics engineer
3 the reflow temps can be got with an air reflow station (me and alot of other people have been developing profiles for ages on another forum).
4 iextreme isnt the latest firmware for all drives so i guess u better go look again.
hitachi drives will only go to 1.51
samsung and benq are at 1.61
lite-on's are at 1.6

tbh i go higher
bottom around 170c
top goes upto 375 on rework station setting but that wont be the temp on the chip
i follow a very good profile thats been working for months now.

and forgot to mention ..... @andy the reflow temp for lead-free solder is around the 217-230c mark
also the waving about on your wand as in your video isnt actually a reflow now is it?...... its just heating the chip.
proper reflow would be with a proper nozzle that fits over the chip and set temps in steps to get to the right reflow temp in a set time..... (the bga chips cant handle anything above 3c per second on any station).
and also for the record i too have repaired lots of xboxes like cgscot has, and too dont need a site to promote my repairs word of mouth says it all in my book.
