are you saying you changed it to UK and it didn't work or you couldnt change it to UK type

you could also try a plug in or usb keyboard

these are the only 2 other passwords it could be but I suspect it is the first one I gave you

I am also having the same issue. I am trying to access a Dell Inspiron Mini 1012 and cannot get beyond this password request. The only other solution I've found is to either remove the CMOS battery from the Motherboard, or start messing w/ jumper settings.... any help that you can provide to ensure that I can avoid having to open this Netbook up would be much appreciated. Here's the error I have:
