    hi guys, need help on this as its doin my head in ,, rite here we go,
    bought a comp off ebay about 5 months ago its been working fine up to a couple of days ago and now its asking for a password before i can log on, ive tryed evrything i know and its not havin it, see when i bought it upon boot up it allways asked for password but if i just clicked ok it bypassed it and booted now since i was havin a look in user the other day tryin to get that off its got worse and as i said now it wonts some kind of password, now i know when i bought this comp he said it was a ex goverment comp if that means anything, any help on this would be great,
    my os is windows xp pro..cheers.chris..

    Get Hirens and boot form that and remove the password.

      hi m8, were do i get hirens from? and also is there any other way to get passed this.cheers.chris..

          thanks for ur help so far guys, but could u tell me will the free hirens edition work to remove the password or will i have to buy the full one.cheers.chris..

            hi guys, ok did wot u said downloaded hirens, burned it onto a cd put cd into comp booted comp nothing happened it just went as normal ie: windows xp logo then enter password just as before, must be doin something wrong, any help would be great.cheers..chris...

              Was it a ISO image you downloaded ? Then burned that to disc.

              Can't mind if you need to change boot seq in bios to boot from cd dvd.

                hi m8, yes it said u must change ur boot sequance in bios to cd/dvd, thats wot i did but still nothing but i did notice that after i changed the boot settin in bios the next time i booted it had changed to normal boot should that happen? any other help on this would be great m8 as its doin my head in,.cheers...chris..

                    it should not revert to a normal boot when you change the boot sequance if you save it before exit.

                      hi m8, well it does m8, i dont know why?? maybe i am doin something wrong, could u talk me through the prosess of changing the boot format from normal boot to cd/dvd boot just in case i am gettin it wrong.cheers..chris..

                        If its a desktop hold F8 when you switch on,or if it`s a laptop press F12 on bootup..then choose to boot from CD.

                            hi m8, yes its a desktop tryed holding in f8 key on start up and there is no opption for booting with cd/dvd in the drop down list, do u know of anything els.cheers..chris.

                              press delete to get into the bios then change the 1st boot sequence from hd to dvd/cd then press f10 to save and exit, it should then boot from the hirens disc.
