had this exact same microsoft security centre alert,....asks to pay for solution. on daughters comp, malwarebytes won't shift it,spybot won't. best way is to find all traces on comp and in reg.there are certain sites which will show you how to go about this looked very complicated to me with my limited knowledge so backed up all the files she needed and reloaded windows...simple!

make sure you have malwarebytes installed next time.

download malware bytes with you normal browser and install, once installed update it then run a full scan, do not run avg or any other software what you have got is malware and the av will not detect it as it is not a virus, when malware bytes is finished it will show a log file just close it. then it will ask if you want to delete the offending files click yes then restart your pc as normal.

try again if it still persists try using internet explorer you have got to get malwarebytes on the pc and update it from the interface of the software using the update tab, the only other way to remove it is manualy or a total format and reinstall of your pc.
ignore any warnings that may pop up they are fake.

                  re-install easy?

is a total format and re-install straight forward? i dont think i have anything urgent on files i only have some photos and burnt some cd's all of my boxloaders and winrar etc are on this computer, the only thing i downloaded for the laptop was avg. windows was pre installed on the laptop when i bought it so i dont have a windows disk just the 2 back up disks i made.

You would be quicker reformatting your lappy. Some Laptops have a hidden partition on them which allows you to reinstall your laptop to the way it was when you bought it. It's usually press f11 when you start to boot lappy up.
What is the make of laptop ?

                            THE TRUTH
                            The Hillsborough Independent Panel. 12/09/12

Today's report is black and white. The Liverpool fans were not the cause of the disaster.
The panel has quite simply found 'no evidence' in support of allegations of 'exceptional levels of drunkenness, ticketlessness or violence among Liverpool fans' and 'no evidence that fans had conspired to arrive late at the stadium' and 'no evidence that they stole from the dead and dying'.

if you cannot get online with the infected pc then you can try and use the memory stick you said you have aquired in an earlier post and use that to get malwarebytes onto your pc.
use your other pc thats not infected and download from cnet directly onto the stick, when the download starts click save it will then ask you were you want to save it to,from a dropdown box look for removeable drive highlight it and click save when finished remove the stick into your laptop and go to my computer there the drive should be visible right click then click open the file you dowloaded should show, double click and it should install, do this in safe mode.
if it installs update then do a full system scan if not then a format and clean installation may be your last resort.
