try system restore and take it back to a date before you had virus.

the toshiba HDD recovery is the one that will restore to factory. i'd go for that if i had nothing on the computer to save.

, i was wondering, something looked missing but i didnt want to swamp you

you can try system restore first if you want. go back a month or so and try to start and see if you have virus. if it doesnt work do all the steps again and do full recovery. up to you.

                            edit
yup. i'd go with full recovery,

next screeb big picture of a spanner and burning disc. telling me to use this program to recover system to original factory state. and telling me to back up all of my data (so i dont have any data apart from avg, photos and some cd's ?) all data and programs of the original windows operating system drive will be erased! back to exit or next to continue,i guess its next
