'twas me who said about factory reset 99% of the time doing ~~~~ all..im happy to stand corrected, but factory reset used to be a glorifed system restore, also without knowing wether it was a boot sector virus or not, i believe my post is valid
    Fave replies from various threads

1: What the fff is all that about??? All that crap below your reply I mean, get a life mate
2: no info on google abt the pace sv5 rang asda they have no idea what i was talking about,
3: Your total contribution to this forum, bordering on trolling, seems to have been a collection of snipes, one liners & asterisked expletives

i see what you mean but as far as i know, the restore steve used works using an image, cant see how that would be infected(not sure if image overwrites boot sector or not though). i think ordinary system restore can be compromised. we'll have a gentlemans bet of a virtual pint as to whether it returns or not,

a full system restore from a restore disk or windows will format the drive and erase everything, boot sector virus included.
Theres nothing there but a formatted disc.
then a new Windows install from an image will be clean.
