On the topic of AC30, i had connected it via usb and wifi.
the same issue remains, it kept on showing a 'connect ppp fail'. however, it is all lights go on the device.

i am unable to find the firmware for this, only the fivespot which is useless. already tried QPST and CDMA workshop. after changing settings, same issues occur.
a bit sad now.

I'm not sure how QPST or CDMA Workshop would help you?

You need to set up a connect profile for your new network, you'll also need to alter the DNS settings to reflect the new provider.

Thanks, for the pointers. I actually tried QPST after reading this. Quite an interesting guide, i must admit, though it did not work for me.

If it's a GSM/UMTS modem (i.e. UK & Europe) and the IMEI does not have a 4 as its 8th digit, then it should!

A few devices with 8th digit as 4 (in the IMEI) can be unlocked by calculator. Only the latest modems have a new algorithm...

You have 10 tries to enter the correct code, so using one up isn't a problem should it not work!
