UNIQUE ID FOR PROTEK 9750 HD IS IT IN BOX?

Thinking of getting this box but from a german shop, however I read I need an UNIGUE ID to get box hooked up properly. Is this unigue ID in the box or must I buy from an approved seller?

hi,the 9700/9750 does not need a id file although it will need to be flashed with sw for it to clear the packages. the unique id file is used on the prokek unixbox (dm500s clone) and for the nanoxx/protek 9600ip(sd) when used in conjunction with sw 29e or 29t for reception of n*** on hotbird and jsc/add on nilesat. regards mdt

many thanks for explanation. I am just learning and I just emailed a seller and asked about unique ID and they replied Yes it comes with ID!!

I have read so many bits over last few days I am trying to recall where I saw it mentioned and as you say it probably referred to the 9600.

Its a lot cheaper from germany as well!!

firstly you need to extract the software file ive posted then put the file onto a FAT32 formatted usb stick making sure the file goes into the ROOT folder. now press.. MENU/SYSTEM INFO/FIRMWARE UPGRADE/OK... after the upgrade is finished your box will re-boot. when you have scanned your channels in and enabled your network(use dchp or static) you can get the bouquet lists by pressing OK then BLUE button. if you make sure the auto-update is set to on then the stb will update itself when future firmware is released. regards mdt

credit to @troya for the howto

Normally a business seller will sell box with FTA firmware installed.(private sellers may update)
Updating the firmware is really easy, new models use a USB pen & a press of a few buttons and you're done, Once updated, the box will auto update to latest firmware as long as you are connected to net.
Latest firmware & how to available on dedicated site.

i use the protek 9600ip not hd and have plenty of epl footie and films to watch but if you are buying the hd version you get even more sats and channels to choose from, and with the team that supports the protek server are exellent..... there has been some problems with nova sports and is now running with sports 1&2 of wich shows epl.....
