As long as your confident in the dish is setup correctly on your wall and the arc is ok, then just pick the sats you want to find in the tuner config.

Then manually move and store them.

Start as far east your dish goes and work your way west.
do you mean should chose Discque 1.2 instead?

Aye mate and set each config sat in tuner to "Use usals - NO"

Tune in 28.2 then move to thor and if you get both then your arc is fine and setup is spot on.

The just manually tune them in.

Get a list of strong tps to search for, for each sat.

I deleted all sats and all channels, rebooted box and chose Disquec 1.2 for the motor and delected USALS and then selected 0.8w as first sat and started scanning but the chnnaels I got are hotbird 13e channels!
        What is wrong here?

Delete them again, goto tuner config, turn off all the sats you have enabled.

Turn on 28.2 set to 1.2 and usals no. then go tune in that sat.

Also load in a pre done sat list like sgtflipflop.

This saves you tuning searching channels.

Once you stored the sat, goto a FTA channel on each stored sat to test.

Do one and test one at a time as you go.

Some times you need to reboot the box to get the enabled sat to show in the tune option when searching for the sat.

It looks like you need to set up from scratch mate.I see you have a TM 5200 set it up with that it will be easier then switch boxes making sure the same lat/long are in both boxes if using USALS,if you are not going to use usals the lat/long dont matter but usals is so much easier as once you are correctly on one sat all the others will be found automatically. try the usals section of this guide for TMs .The most important things with motorised dishes is that the mounting pole is 100% plumb and the dish is 100% central on the motor spigot.

im with dick b on this
i use usals too and not that far from you adam (wakey)
sounds like the guy thats setup the dish didnt have a clue what he was doing.
he should have set the dish due south first and then gone on from there.
also he should have made sure ur long and lat was set

It is all going bad, now openbox can't store more channels as it si limited to number channles it can store, I will get rid of openbox and get anoehr box but I think the dish has not been set correctly. What he did to install the dish is that me moved the dish until he got a strong signal from 0.8w then he tighted the screws, after that he said select and scan the sats I asked him about longitude and altiude but he didn't know what I was talking about. my only concilation is that I can get 4.8w which is brilliant sat

Did you say you have a Dreambox 800hd?
Why dont you try it on that before you get rid of the box.
If your picking up 4.8 then it must be on the arc, might just need to tweak the long and lat which you can do on a miss aligned box.

If your installer didnt know about setting Long/Lat in the box you do need to start setup from scratch as he obviously didnt know what he was doing.

if your installer has set your system up using dis 1.2 then you dont need to reset your dish/motor to usals unless you need/want to although usals is much better as the sats/positions are found for you. you should be able to tune each sat in using dis 1.2 it just takes a while to manually find each sat and store its position.. if you want to reset your motor to use usals the select usals in the menu then enter your long/lat and then tell the stb to go-to 1 west., now if you go up the ladder and ajust the motor(not the dish) slightly to the left(from behind the dish) untill you peak the signal and tighten the motor up. now if your pole is 100% plumb/dish central on motor spiggot then all the other sats on the arc will be found. i find that patience is the key when ajusting/setting up motorised dishes and just check each possible problem point untill all are spot on. regards mdt

After puting in your lat and long, and receiver is looking for o.8. Just losen the motor bolts and turn the motor assemble until you pick up Thor again. Check also the correct latitude is used on the motor assemble, if it is a 2600 motor or similar.

Thank you all for your help, it is clearly the guy who installed it didn't do it right. I will have to ask someone else to fix ti for me, the dish is very high and I don't have big ladder. I will let you know how it goes.

If you have picked up some sats at some stage it must be on the correct arc or near to it.
Sometimes with usals you can add or take away some of your long and lat and tweak it if its slight out of allignment.
Having the incorrect long and lat it wont pick nothing up its that important.
Shame you cant try the Dreambox for a short time and see if it works.
                              Andy.

The thing that I don't understand is that I am using USALS ad my latitude and longitude values in the box are both zero yet I can get all channels on 0.8w, 4.8w, 26e, sky uk and even some channels on 7w but I can't get 16e and 23.5e and some other sats. If both latitude and longitude values were wrong then I should not be able to get anything?
