guys due to the nature of first run clones im not comfortable with suggesting any perticular supplier.. just take a look on alixpress or m.i.c. and put vu+duo/solo in the search box then have a read for yourselves. regards mdt

personally i'd say avoid them like the plague, but i know a lot of people will have the mistaken notion there getting a deal.

well as long as they are aware of buying a clone and original firmware may not work, will they have their own support?buy the box and take your chance.

But RuberDuck to offence but you are always bad mouthing the clone market when in fairness there are some great dreambox clones being produced. Even Dream Multlimedia have said that although there are some shit clones being produced out there, there is also some factories ouy there putting very good components in to them and putting a good standard in to them.

I am not saying rush out and buy one of these but i will be watching them to see what becomes of them and then if it all looks good and promising then i will maybe think about it and if i was to i would go with my supplier as i know they produce excellent quality.

i dont give a flying fig about dreambox but if these clone makers have such a high regard for their products why continue to sell them as dreambox's rather than brand it them selves. i would have far more respect if they lived off their own products reputation than the dreambox name.

The product works well, but it is a CLONE (very good copy). I have got another one of the same model bought from a official seller. Comparing the products I could see some slightly differences in the box, but it works as well as the original. After a inside inspection, I can tell the motherboard looks a little bit different, but the main processor is exactly the same. Probably they use the same parts as the original. I made an upgrade with the original firmware from AZBox and everything is working fine. I didn't miss any resource. I would reccomend the product but with some reticences because I can't say anything about the durability at this point. Until now I haven't regreted the purchase.

From the sounds of it the Duo is still in development and the Solo will be released first.

All suppliers are telling the same stories with different release dates, or unknown.

I guess it is a waiting game.

Just got the same sort of price on Alibaba site for the Solo and been told that it will be ready the 15th of October. So need to wait and see.

As for the Duo what a confusion it is some sellers claim its in development, others dont have a clue about it.

I dont get the making of Solo clone to be honest, I cant see it overtaking the 800 Pro and SE clone market. As for the Duo now I do see a point in this receiver as it is a twin tuner and if it has the right price (somewhere in the middle of the 800se and 8000 clones) then it could potentially be a big hit.

Also I think for either to last on the market they need to get it right the first time.

Also just been adviced by one supplier that the Solo has no sim card.
