Unsure mate but still want it . Cant get it though due to the Mrs would kill me if I spent that on a receiver .

I am going with the Xtrend et9200 now mate ?359 better spec than the Duo and many of the same image teams available for it as the Duo.

Think I will be going with the ViX 2.3 image

Just a note for those going for the nextbay offer for the clone... It's about ?200 but beware if customs clock on to it.

                1. If they realize it's a clone then it will be taken by them

                2. If they do stop it and think it's genuine, you could be asked to pay a significant percentage for duty vat.

Also, if it does arrive doa, it's goodbye to your investment. You'd probably only be able to sell on fleabay for spares.

For ?200 a fully functional and reliable dual tuner box like vu+ duo is worth it. It's just the risk of shipping it across that is most worrying.

Nextbay.... Never used them. Just judging them based on them being in Asia. How the hell are you going to send something back to them and not lose money. Not withstanding the fact, if you need to return something to china you can't send the box as it is. It must be deassembled to parts.

If nextbay will offer a full replacement for a ?200 item without a returning the faulty item, then you may be right, otherwise don't talk about these things without knowledge. How many times have you known nextbay replace faulty items? It's a genuine question. Also, how much were those items worth?

You might be able to fallback on Paypal, but there no guarantee there. Best to use credit card with paypa
Account, then order. That would give you most security in case things go tits up

It seems ?220 is very poor vfm to me. I can see why DM clones are popular given there about 1/3 of the price of the genuine article.

But the price difference between clone and genuine Vu's isn't enough to warrant the risk of buying a clone and dealing with asain suppliers for me.

I'd rather pay the extra ?80ish to get a genuine box from UK/Europe with proper support.

I would say it depends on how differant the clones are in terms of reliability and build quality. Will they pass the test of time, do they overheat, will they fall apart after a few months?

All these questions need to be answered. I think we know all the image teams will try to create images that destroy these boxes. So we really need to know if they will past the test of time.

If they can, then they are definately worth it, especially when price drops further the more they become available. I would look at it in a differant way, I would rather pay ?200 for a dual tuner box that has everything than pay ?150 for a blade type box that is still early days. Or ?300 for a box which if it can do it over time you could get for ?200 albeit a "clone",

Like I've said, if someone takes away the biggest risk by bringing them over from china. I wouldn't mind having a little dabble with one for ?200.

There's already reports of bricked boxes from images containing 'bombs'

In that case, I would steer well clear....at least until there is a reliable stable image that support them.

Although I would like to know which images these are? A lot of the image teams are strongly against the clones for obvious reasons.

I don't know. But there is a warning on Ferrari team forum only to use images sourced from/tested by them because of reports vu+ drivers containing bombs

I have used nextbay for a few years not the best chinese company in my opinion but honest enough to rely upon. it cost me ?14 to send back a box to china via royal mail. so dont talk bollock about know what a company is like. I stand by what I said. and as for other ppl say i would pay the extra ?80 to get another genuine one you show me were you can get a gen vu duo for ?300 delivered and I will deffo say you are wrong. totall bollox no were for less than ?330 delivered.
