Totally agree dont see any need for a solo clone , with the dm800se being such a fast and good price, the Vu Duo would be really good at right price, aint really any dual tuner clones that are at good price and nice images
Just got the same sort of price on Alibaba site for the Solo and been told that it will be ready the 15th of October. So need to wait and see.
As for the Duo what a confusion it is some sellers claim its in development, others dont have a clue about it.
I dont get the making of Solo clone to be honest, I cant see it overtaking the 800 Pro and SE clone market. As for the Duo now I do see a point in this receiver as it is a twin tuner and if it has the right price (somewhere in the middle of the 800se and 8000 clones) then it could potentially be a big hit.
Also I think for either to last on the market they need to get it right the first time.Comment

Suppose the solo is a go between the pro and se and with it costing around just ?10 (dont quote me on that and not a UK estimate) more than the pro if i had to go for it the pro or solo i would go for the pro as i believe even a clone pro has more support and images than a original solo never mind a clone model.

i hear what you say gary...and agree....but i see people only going for the se now. it just dosen't make sense to go for anything else. i bought 2 pro's ?150 and ?155 (uk). granted pro price has gone down. i was happy to pay that price for the equipment and now.....for the same price i get se....
it's just gota be the se!!!!!
agre again in only a duo would sellComment

There is still people out there buying the Pro. Personally if it was myself I would fork out that little bit extra and go for the SE.
At the same time you might find Ebay sellers will jump on the Solo due to the trouble of selling Dream clone receivers on Ebay now. But the end of the day there needs to be a market there for them and I dont think there will be. Even if someone does not want to pay that little extra for the SE then I would point them in the direction of the Pro not the Solo.
The Duo clone needs to be at the right price if its near the price of a 8000HD clone then once again I know I would go for the 8000HD.
Both receivers when released need to be right first time. They seem to have got the SE right the first time round so there is hope there.

yeah I wouldnt pay over ?200 for it. Im wondering if it will even be released. If it was sold around that figure in China including delivery then it doesnt leave much profit on UK sellers.
To be honest I would even question buying it at ?200 knowing that for just over ?100 I could have the real deal. Look at the difference between price in SE clone and SE original there is a huge saving there, if there was only around ?100 difference more people would go for the original. The Duo is going to need to be around the same price as the SE for me to be interested and for it to be successful, if it costs anything more it would be better to buy the original.

saying that though gary, i would pay ?200 no probs if the quality and build was the same and good as the se.
?40-?50 extra for twin tuner - not too bad. after all you only get 1 year warranty with the original anyway.
regards the pricing of original se.....its dm which decide to do that and alow for the large clone market. if they priced their se at around ?250ish....do you think people would bother with clones?? 90% wouldn't i'm sure.Comment
-
Thats what I am getting at if the price is too close to the original be it a Dreambox clone, Vu or anything people are more likely to go for the original. The Duo clone is going to have to be more than ?100 cheaper than the original to be successful. As you have stated that if the SE original was ?250 then 90% people would go for that.
Yes it does have a twin tuner and the max i would pay would be ?200 for it but I do believe that it should be priced in between the se price and ?200 so ?175
. It has a twin tuner but the SE would still be the better receiver due to speed and support.

I just dont understand why people buy clones and support these clone manufacturer's when you can buy genuine VU+ and Xtrend receivers for not much more!
Think VU+ and Xtrend should look at creating somekind of clone killer in their drivers/images. I certainly dont want to see a ViX image on any shitty clone, thats for sure!D I S C L A I M E R My right to post information is protected under the rights for freedom act. however that is not a official VIX image but rather a crude Vu solo ported image. VIX have DM images but as we dont have sufficient receivers etc they will not be released as we cant fully test them and we will not release a untested image.Comment

totally agreed mate. i have no time for clones and i very much hope that Vu and xtrend implement security features to prevent images and drivers working on these receivers.I just dont understand why people buy clones and support these clone manufacturer's when you can buy genuine VU+ and Xtrend receivers for not much more!
