Not the duo mate even at the start of this thread they never had a release date, solo was meant to be out by now.
To be honest i wouldnt be surprised if they had scrapped plans for both

well the suppliers have from the start of this thread only had the duo in the possible pipeline. with the solo it was meant to be in production and be released by now. After asking recently they either have no idea of when the solo will be released, a couple have said maybe and even been told its not happening now.
So it does not look good, i never could understand it, theres not much point in the solo as there are already single tuner hd dreambox clones that are well established and have excellent support behind them. The duo would be a nice idea but they would need to sell it pretty cheap as if i am right the last time i checked was just over 300.
I think there best bet would be to release a dual tuner for the SE clone.

Oh hark at thee!

I'd also like to see the VU+ team implement some good security into their systems as unlike DreamMultimedia they do not rip the piss with their pricing. IMO, VU+ is the only other hardware on the market that has a real chance of toppling DMM from it's throne, if people are after a VU+ machine then they should try to buy the legit machine, this should be a wakeup call to DMM.
As for DMM machines, fcuk them, buy the clones until the German twats realise that their prices are ridiculous and drop them.Last edited by C64; 25 October, 2011, 23:00.Comment

You'll not be disappointed with a clone DM800SE mate, it's easily the best machine I've used, the build quality is excellent and support is second to none.Comment

Agree Vu+ dont rip the piss on there prices unlike Dream thats why I dont get cloning them. I get why they clone the Dream receivers and why the Dream clones do so well, because people can save half the price.Oh hark at thee!

that's probably the reason why there is no clones for the vu and extrend etc....as the pricing is reasonable. i don't think there will be any clones made for the vu range!
but... a twin tuner se ...wow!!! i expect this to be made shortly as there will be a market for it and priced around ?250ish (from china)
The SE clone is priced good for the machine that it is.
interresting to know how thevu solo compares with th SE clone.
the pricing is around about the same (bought in the UK)
one original and one clone....be very interresting
i mean the solo is around ?190ish approx same as the clone se (in uk)Comment

A bit of a tangent here.... If people are really after a twin tuner box, why don't someone like blade do a "combo" box with twin sat tuner?
You can pick those boxes up for less than ?150, so why not change the cable tuner for a second sat tuner and it wouldn't cost anything more. Then just need the firmware to support it and voila!, or am I missing something?
Anyway, if the duo clone is not coming anytime soon, I might hold on to my vu+ duo to check out vix 2.3 image which is supposed to be really good when it finally arrives.Comment

Anyone got both of these receiver's would be great if you could do a little versus post or thread comparing the two against each other
What always puts me off going for a Vu+ or Xtrend etc is that Dreamboxes be it clone or original seem to have more images and support.

that statemnt i really do not get, because believe me the support level for both of these manufacturers is excellent. both receive very regular driver updates from their own in house labs and have excellent image support from a number of teams such as vix , vti , BH , AAF , power of dreams , openpli , nemesis , DE , powerboard pb , satdream gr , gisclub 3g , cubic , hdf team , egami and even the DBUK team have experimental images for the Vu boxes. this forum may not be the best place to judge the support of these boxes but believe me it rivals and in many many cases far exceeds that of any DM model.Comment

I still feel that if I had a Dreambox (original and clone) that there is more support out there.
On a good number of forums I see more help threads in the dreambox forums than I do for the vu+ receivers.
I know you despice clones but they deserve the credit the are due,
Would als say on forums I see more threads on Dreambox clones than I do on the orginal receivers.

Wouldnt be a good fight afterall Solo only has Broadcom Mips Processor 333 Mhz. the fight is over the winner is Dream SE clone.that's probably the reason why there is no clones for the vu and extrend etc....as the pricing is reasonable. i don't think there will be any clones made for the vu range!

So realistically it would have to be a Vu+ Uno V SE
