Found this ?500 for db 8000hd seems a bit to good to be true so dont hold your breath...............

They sell clone receivers mate. They are trying to make them look as if they are originals with the 'saving'. ?500 for a clone 8000HD is expensive.

If you search them they also do not have a good name in the clone market.

I wonder if the Ultimo will make Dream rethink how much they should be selling the 8000HD for. Mind you i doubt it Dream are very greedy.

Yeah seen it somewere else with expected stock in January says it comes with 2 tuners as standard and a slot for the third.

As you say ?579 is a bit of money but its better than forking out close to a grand for a 8000HD.

As much as I want one dont think it would be worth the Mrs not talking to me for sometime . So get the Duo (original) and then keep a eye on the Ultimo and maybe get it later on in the year next year

Yeah just noticed that on World of Satellites site mate a nice wee saving but sadly even at that I cant see that making it out my pocket so early in the new year

got my vu duo, dual tuner is very handy, box is really responsive no hint of lag at all even while its recording,

im thinking of putting in a 2.5inch drive, currently got a wester digital 3.5 7200rpm i had it doing noting so put it in but can hear noise at night, or get a 5400rpm green drive 3.5inch

get a 2.5inch get 3,5 adaptor, will 2.5inch drop preformance ?

prices of drives are just crazy right now though

yeah sorry for the late reply.

To be honest i can find no fault with the uno at all, other than it is a single tuner receiver.

it very fast and with a decent image loaded should not give you any troubles at all.

now it does mention a problem with SR 30,000 frequencies but thats a thing of the past thanks to the regular FPGA updates released by Vu.

i herd the duo clones have been shipped to the uk, when they arrive depending on price I may just dabble, the other clones are already in the uk.
