a long time ago i had a quote from a geeza,
he checked on his electronic satellite compass,
he said i should get thor, sirius, astra 28.2, astra 19, hotbird, hispasat and many more.

i dont remember whether he said it will be an issue or not,
but theres a tree in the way, and the thing is, its a big one
its in the line of astra 28.2e, hence my concern.

i hear ya, was wondering if i got a digital satellite compass,
wouldn't that show me if i could get the satellite even with the tree there?

or is that just a basis to show me the right direction?

no, they just help to find direction etc... you need to get the dish up there and attach it to a meter/tv to have any indication

I bought the same dish of ebay mate delivered super quick.I found the hardest part was getting the bracket level.I'm just outside crewe and get loads of sat's .Still a newb myself mate and found its easier than it sounds.Bought a cheap meter from argos and in little writing it says not sutible for motorised dish.I still used it ok though.

go to dishpointer.com, type in your postcode, zoom in to your house and place the marker where your dish will be, pick a sat, from the drop down list (28.2e) this will show you the direction with a blue line.. you can then use the obstacle checker to get rough idea
