Sky will still have all the 3pm kick offs live broadcasting....for sports Saturday etc...also different providers are providing different games...so as long as you have access to different providers...you can find the game you want.

That's not right mate .
A proxy sever will allow you to get viaplay. - The proxy server but will show that your IP is a Swedish one.
Nothing to do with skyComment

sky are only releasing 1 3pm game to each provider a week , there's only going to a few games and only the top clubs at that , there's no way u will get the games where used too m8 , lucky if there's 3 at the most and no English comms , we will have to see but that's wot there after

I think it is only the the Viasat boxes that have no internet connected that will lose the Xtra pl, the games are still available on their Viaplay service, not through the satellite, but through their internet & then played out through the STB onto their tv screen.sky are only releasing 1 3pm game to each provider a week , there's only going to a few games and only the top clubs at that , there's no way u will get the games where used too m8 , lucky if there's 3 at the most and no English comms , we will have to see but that's wot there after

It is only the "satellite only" cards that won't get the xtra pl.
Proxy server is a possible solution.
I work in Manchester for a Swedish company and at my office, it shows as a swedish ip so i guess if i got them to put internet at home....hey presto i am connected to Swedish internet as it goes through to Gothenburg.Comment

s*y dont own the fapl... they have the broadcast rights for the uk and eire. as far as i know the bbc and/or s*y have cameras at each 3pm game and then octagon/csi uplink the signal to the foreign broadcasters who recieve the downlink then in turn encode it with their encryption system and then re-uplink to their subscribers or it could be encoded/uplinked directly from the bt earth station after its been sent via copper/fiber optic lines or microwave link. the european broadcasters negotiate individual agreements directly with the epl. of course im no expert and im probably wrong with some of the info, regards mdtDM800HDSE SIM 2.10. this is off a well know streaming site
mportant Announcement Regarding Streaming of 3pm Football
As some of you may already know the FAPL have been restricting the amount of 3pm broadcasts shown across Europe.
This week the FAPL have announced that each broadcaster may only broadcast one 3pm game per week.
This presents a problem with the amount of games shown over Europe that satellite viewers will have access to.
Unfortunately this will now make it almost impossible to pick up lower end of the table teams via European satellite.
The FAPL have also demanded that the broadcasters drop english commentry in favour of the native language of broadcasting provider.
How this effects You and Us?
This will mean that each week we can only guarantee 1 Premier League game at 3pm.
Sometimes we maybe able to show two or three 3pm Premier League games per week, however we can only guarantee one live 3pm.
This is something that we hope will be resolved with the various broadcasters and the Premier League.
It is not something we wish to do, and is completely out of our hands. We must however apologise for the obvious inconvenience this may cause.
We will of course update you in due course if and when there are any changes that we become aware of.
Regards

Do you know the bit that pisses me off most. Sky who have pushed for this will still be in the same position as they were before.
One of the reasons puns bought foreign broadcast cards is because SKY were too expensive. Pubs will still buy these cards as they will still show all of the sky games at a much cheaper cost.
If these cards only included the 3pm games and not the sky games then pubs would have bought both cards meaning sky would still have got there own subscriptions meaning they would have had no need to kick off as much.
It would have then been just the EPL who were pissed off and the choice of leaving be or losing 100's of millions would have swayed there decision.
I can't wait until the new tv rights contract come up for renewalComment

not true at all , seeing as sly have never shown 3pm saturday kickoffs in the uk seeing as the PL banned it about 20 years agoDo you know the bit that pisses me off most. Sky who have pushed for this will still be in the same position as they were before.

pubs and clubs that I know of bought the foreign decoders and cards to get 3pm saturday kickoffs and attract the punters in, and its been that way for a long time, including karen murphy with her nova package
the fact is that the only way a pub or club could get 3pm saturday kickoffs was through nova or art or viasat or tring or any one of the other contenders on the block
the other matches were a bonus, and it was sly and setanta uk that had those in the UK , and now its sly and espn seeing as setanta UK went bust
those with setanta IE can still get a few matches but need an eire postcode to get the white card enabled
the problem with some members is that they become so fixated on sly they dont see the bigger picture , and this thread is about viasat not sly , ie:- viasat and the FAPLComment

I dont agree with you on all of this post.
Im not fixed on sky at all - I know very well who owns the rights.
Sky do have influence over the EPL based on them being there biggest customer.
3pms was another reason aswell as SKY costing ?800 per month and greek nova costing ?800 per year .
Pubs will still buy overseas cards as it is cheaper than sky.
So who wins
Sky - No - pubs will still buy foreign cards
EPL - No - They will lose ????'s upon rights renewal
Public - No - No one can see 3pm games
Football clubs - maybe some people will go to the game instead of watching on the tv, but balance that with lose of revenue from tv rights.
Big clubs will have more incentive than ever to sell there own tv rightsComment

the fact remains that any pub or club cannot buy a card from sly uk for 3pm kickoffs on a saturday and havent been able to do so for the last 20 years, so get your facts straight on that score
it is not shown on any of the sky sports or espn channels at that time as there is a closed period of something like 1430 to 1730 on a match saturday like today for instance, so all you get is the liverpool game on irish setanta for eire only
the fact is that some members have such a chip on their shoulders about sky they get tunnel vision and blurt out untruths , which I find annoying as do many others who actually know the score and who have had satellite systems for over 10 years and been watching matches on the "foreign channels" for that long too
its certainly nothing new, and its also a fact that BT have uplinked the matches for decades , and in pre-sly days they mainly went to the bbc over landlines with big studio trucks parked outside the ground, and the landlines carried the commentaries for radio and sound feeds back to the studios or to the tv switching centres ( both BT and BBC centres ) , and prior to BT it was post office telephones !!
lets just stick to the facts and not fiction pleaseComment

agree with both and dnkla's point that pubs will still buy foreign cards to show what sly would show is also valid as there is a little difference in costs
sly only have rights within the uk and the blackout has always been there so people attend matches instead of watching at home.
the premiere league will lose more revenue in tv money then they will ever gain by people attending.
the bottom line is....as the pubs started to become second ground for fans...it did get a bit ridiculous..i know of pubs where they get full house for every game for the home team of that town...(they will be relegated this season anyway
) and that was taking the piss...and you can see why the PL alongside sly have started a crackdown.
it must be a lot of lost revenue for them to act....
again ....thanks to the ~~~~~ing pubs....Comment

I have no interest in you having no interest in that I don't agree with you.
Right mr know it all.
Read my posts again I never said sky show 3pm or you could buy 3pm games from sky (or whatever you put)
My post said pubs bought foreign cards because they are cheaper than sky. They didn't buy them only for 3pm games - FACT
Meaning pubs won't all of sudden now go back to sky as most 3pms have gone . Pubs will still buy foreign cards - FACT
If you gonna try and be a smart arse - YOU get your facts right and read my posts correctly before you post.
And the member with a chip on there shoulder is YOU.
Some members don't understand the difference between SKY and the EPL - I'm not one of them so the the bad attitude you have is un called for. (we already know you don't care what I think)

read what I said again
and then read the thread title , VIASAT , and the problem is with the FAPL limiting what non-uk providers can show and when they can show it
FACT
nothing to do with sky , which is why we get sick of sky being brought into every thread on satellite forumsComment
