that 2-3db can make all the difference m8 on the weaker txp,s.. and give you that extra rain fade margin although as you know id have a 10m dish if i could. i agree with the 18 inch t+k,s as you should only need 24 inch ones if your eaves are really big or you need that extra clearence. them dicks in germany still havent contacted me over my order so i dont know what their playing at!! regards mdt

Thanks for all the info lads i think i will get the T & K 18" brackets i have seen them for ?19 including postage - i was tempted to get the 24" brackets as they where only ?23 including postage but i think they will be OTT as i think the 18" will be ok
Thanks again for all your help

nearly forgot that i need a 3 foot scafolding pole, but i have not seen any advertised i prosume that it should be galvanised or would a heavy duty aliminium one be ok or not strong enough

Say I own a cheap dish, that will no doubt turn into a rusty bucket in the salt laden coastal area in which I live. Is there a treatment a person can give to protect said dish from disintegration? I am thinking spray paint?

MDT there is very little between them i can tell you i did 2 last week and they both pull in 7? west with Ultra's with a fair rain margin.

Sorry to hear about your woes with HM-SAT never been a problem with my orders but i did only get the Gibby's 85cm and 1m.

I better mention this as well while we are on about it you will need a 3" diameter pole for the Gibby Polar mount sticking it on a scaff pole 2" diameter is pushing it, I na just about to delve into the Channel master myself with the 1.2m but its hard trying to source a 3" diameter pole and the one i have is ?100 for a 3m one LOL

              Regards

ACF50 Anti-Corrosion Protection Rust Prevention Spray Bike Car Motorcycle Quad | eBay

as a motor bike Rider a lot of us use this ACF50 Spray and it is exellent stuff to protect against corossion
i do not know what it will be like on a Sat Dish but if you coat all the bear metal parts it should protect it for years you could try it on the dish and LNB as well as i do not beleive that it interfiers with the electrics

i hope this was Helpfull as it keeps Motorbikes Rust Free For Years at 150mph

you can use non-metallic matt paint on satellite dishes and clearly they nearly all come spray painted anyway

They could not tell me, i know it wont be an original as they are not made any more. The only one i have seen has been modified (Primesat CH12MK3 polar mount) on satsuperstore

why dont they make the polar mounts anymore??? that seems nonsensecal imo, satsuperstore are asking ?420 for the dish/polarmount/actuator/v-box and smart tit lnb although we all know that their prices are ridiculous ,regards mdt

The market's changed - the US market & elsewhere have mostly moved away from the big c band BUDs to little KU dishes like us & domestic motorised has moved to small diseqc motors on mostly 80s 90s 1ms & 1.1s.. Above that is a big jump now to the VSAT market which can pay for decent motorised, [got a few big 'uns on atm-.].

Polarmounts are also noisy - shifting a Channel Master 1.2 on an 18" Superjack on that mod'd Gibi polarmount bolted to a house is real noisy - & if you have close neighbours you might end up limiting it's use late at night- the Gibi design makes the actuator labour more than it needs to as well - it was a little better with the Channel Master polarmounts- but not much & even the relays in the V Box make a racket.
