you would have thought so on several receivers but no, not seen a backup for it, althoughj you can usually import them into receivers

seems strange to me that you cannot backup such an important feature (unless somebody knows different)

Never owned a blade personally but have had a 5402HD which is made in the same factory as the blade and the 5402 lets you backup your config file to USB, also my DrHD F15 again looks exactly like a blade and again made in the same factory and has a similar menu structure to the blade lets me backup my Config to USB.

It seems strange that this would be omitted on the blade unless its to do with whoever does the patching of the firmware.

        I assume that's the case.

I have to use my dm500 to test my lines. Adding lines to the box is time consuming.

          Blade BM7000s

Got the Channel list, Connection List, Firmware and keyfile extracted from my box last night. Thanks for all the help everyone. I am using a modified Firmware dated April 2011.

It's now generated even more questions !

One of the files I extracted was a Keyfile. Firstly does the BM7000s have an onboard emulator and if so what can be cleared with this emulator at the moment.

Some of the subs I have looked at list loads of packages and when you go to pay you don't actually select a package just if you require NEWCAMD or CCCAM and the length of the subscription.
Would I be right in assuming I would get access to all the other packages thru the same NEWCAMD line.

I was contemplating moving my system around so my motorised dish is on my Blade unit and my fixed dish on my Humax Freesat Box, that I currently I have configured as a motorised system.

If the above is true I may well be on a server now that is offering other packages and may be able to clear them at present without actually knowing!

          Any thoughts appreciated............

newcamd and cccam are indeed where you place "lines" or the info from a line for "other packages", but we cannot discuss that aspect and only "they" can tell you what packages are in the "lines" so I would consider stopping asking questions on that "sore" subject

the tm5402 uses a tmsoftcam for packages included with the softcam itself, like 39e bulsat for instance, this is common to most receivers, I havent tested this on the blade but assume its the same as for spiders and tm5402 and dreambox softcams

so its a multicam emu and also there will be BISS as well to consider I would think (like pltv on 10e)

Sorry guys to hijack this thread.

I have a Blade BM7000s with march firmware installed and its a bit glitchy and freezes sometimes.

So I wondering if I update the box with May firmware, will I lose my Newcam settings or I won't?

I have back up the Newcam settings anyway. Will I be able to reconnect to the server after entering the settings back?

Oh 1 more thing, if I buy another box, can i put the same settings on the other one without telling the person from whom I'm subscribe?
                Thanks

Best person to answer this is ramjet as i have a DrHD F15 identical to the blade and when i upgrade firmware my CCcam/newcamd is untouched so i would have thought the same for the blade but wait for an answer from an owner.

As for the second question and another box they will notice and probably ban you more than likely

upgrading firmare is ok,its when you do a factory reset you lose all info
best to keep a note of it anyway
also some providers allow 2 boxes on 1 sub,i have 2 boxes and my supplier allows this

Thanks for reply Digicon. I did try to PM Ramjet but unfortunately he's proving very difficult to get hold of as he doesn't accept any PM.

Anyway let's hope he sees this thread and help me.

                      Thanks again.

I've been reading most of Ramjet's post and he said "FACTORY RESET before you flash the box makes it ready to be flashed"
and "FACTORY RESET after you flash the box will lock it into place"

Based on what he said, I will probably be doing it just to be safe.

You can't go wrong with ramjets advice and yes he doesn't accept pms i have tried myself in the past

Take note of your c/s line before you do a factory reset as it gets deleted, then put the firmware on once thats done do another factory reset. Then put your line info back in the box by the 9991 menu and download your channels.

It's best to ask the person your getting your line from if your allowed to use the same line on 2 boxes as some allow it some charge you more for this, but if you do it without they're permission they'll ban you usually so peace of mind just ask the person.

                            It's best not to use a payserver........end of !

Please refrain from payserver discussions even ones as muted as this one.

Upgrading firmware will not delete your cccam settings I have been testing different firmwares and never lost these settings.
so your save to do so.
