I know we cant be sure what will happen - but following on from this does anyone have any advice on what box would be best "featured" receiver to cope with any possible developments - for example if satellite feeds go will iptv be the temporary solution?

If I was going to buy a new box what features should I be looking for (currently have a dm500 and a Tm5402)

Ive read the book Murdochs pirates and have learnt that 99% of what was hacked previously was financed by that man himself.
And there's no need for him to Do it again.

        It's a great read.

Just stick with what you have now,

And see what happens when new measures take affect,

I would not waste any money on a box that may not be any use
          For uk channels,

***in no way a hack or crack its just a way of sending they encryption code down a sever that will never be cracked to ur box. and from what ive heard i.e my provider they are only doin these high ecm times for short periods of time so doesnt give anyone a chance to properly test anything

It is still all based on algorithms though. Have you ever bothered to check the amount of possible encryptions available to an Enigma operator? It was billions yet they still cracked it.

Yes, but there lives depended on it - and Enigma couldnt be changed at the flick of a switch like ND$ and within a few hours , and they were literally the finest minds in the country. It would be do'able i reckon if it was state sponsored or by an organisation which is big enough - just like $ly allegedly did a few years ago with On-Digital.... Or did I dream that.

i have s10 had no problems at all no freezing football works fine just have to wait and see, follow this thread tho.
i also agree with a previous post big corporations in china and russia wont let there buisness stop they will invest in hacking sky and
probabley cause untold problems i would assume, is it really worth the risks at stake ? i wouldn't have thought so.
