you really need to watch the video digicon posted for you in your other thread asking for a sat installer to help you, then follow it so that you line up on thor and bbc world news the same as the guy in that 6 years old film which is still relevant today

also read through the boxbhoy thread near this one and look at those pictures and the advice given, it may help you to determine the problem, like maybe you havent got the motor and dish and lnb arm all in a straight line ?

is a motorized dish worth the hassle now there is no football on it now.... i have been on the motor for 6 days now .. with no luck... i found thor 0.8w and was told the rest will fall into place no luck there then... i have 90cm dish with a f5 box i also have a vu solo... witch i have had for 8 weeks now and still can not set it up... i do have ts media thou witch is really good so i left it there..i am paying someone ?50 to allign the dish for me tomorrow.. is it worth doing or not kind regards youngie

yes worth doing plenty of footy on different sats,apart from 26E 7w take a look at liveonsat shows you all games with what sats they are on,plus plenty of movies to be had,cheers

there is and will be football on mine and has been for over 10 years

2000 next monday the manu game is on bulsat on 39e if nothing else, opened by patch + softcam , even an old tm1500 cheapo SD patched box will decode it never mind a solo or duo or spiderbox or blade or tm5402 or eagle 800 (no idea about a slybox)

plenty of streaming media stuff on the vu, like 1channel , tsmedia , icefilms, ondemand catch up tv, and a few others too

lnb settings are never changed, they are set to universal for the channels we want

ok mate i have tryed the freq and no luck on 23e and badr... he must not of set it up right mate i paid ?55 for the allignment... he never checked my pole for straightness... gutted as most football is on 23 and badr.. cheers lee

I am afraid that the case here is pay peanuts and get ladder monkeys, someone worth his salt would have checked with your actual receiver before leaving that both where working correctly including checking that it was tracking the ARC

you are paying him for a proper job - not for being a "great guy" , or "cheap"

he should have also checked that your motor zero pointer pointed at "true south" , that thor was at 0.8w (the easiest method to check this is use a box with your latitude and longitude in it using usals and send the motor to 0.8w and check bbc world news , like shown in that 6 year old h*sat video in your other thread) , that the lnb was not skewed whilst on 0.8w or the zero pointer, and that it was tracking the arc correctly and picking up the satellites as it steps round the arc, especially the harder to find ones like 26e , 4w , 5w etc, and especially 42 east turksat - 0.8w thor - 30w hispasat which is each end and middle of the arc using popular satellites we can get in the uk

if you miss vital steps, you dont track the arc, and I did post a set of pictures showing this in the boxbhoy thread as he is trying to do the same as you are
